We were 4 seniors on a fly-drive junket and pleased with our unit. It was spacious, clean, plenty of hot water, kitchen facilities were adequate for our needs and the towels and linen were clean and fresh. The office stayed open just to check us in - we were arriving quite late. The young lady on duty tried to ring us a couple of times to check how we were going on what was a pretty terrible night weather-wise.
The room easily catered for six of us - with the kids each getting a separate bed. -

The manageress was extremely helpful when we decided to move on earlier than expected after the cancellation of our planned whale-watching trip and went out of her way to help us find accommodation at our next port-of-call. -
We loved the location of this motel and it is one of the cleanest we have stayed in. Excellent standard and the host couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely stay in a Bella Vista again if this is the normal standard. -
The owners were awesome , super friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, comfortable and situated in a convenient place with a short walk into the township. Nest time I go to Kaikoura I will definitely be staying there.

Our stay at The Kaikoura Gateway Motor Lodge began with an easy check in at which time the owner upgraded us to a one bedroom free of charge. Nice!! Excellent staff... The owners were helpful and informative, and the accommodation was spacious and comfortable. It far exceeded the usual tourist motel accommodation in NZ. There was also a playground opposite in alarge park for the kids to expend energy.
Excellent accommodation, don't even consider anywhere else.

The motel was very conveneient for us as an overnight stay on our way to
Dunedin. We appreciated their appeciation when we realised we hadn't
been charged for breakfast and we then arranged for payment to be made.
All too often there is no thanks when someone goes out of their way to
correct an incomplete payment ( in our case) or something else.

Outstanding hospitality. We stayed two nights on different dates and
enjoyed it each time. We would go there again any time in the future.
The Motel is located next to the most stunning views and walks in New
Zealand. The owners are absolutely friendly and eager to help. The
rooms, floors, bathroons are squirky clean. The kitchenette is well
equipped. Two restaurants are just a few steps away.

plenty of space.
All the units have a patio with table, chairs and their own BBQ though in the end we ate dinner at local restaurants rather than cooking.

We stayed in the King suite, as it was only $7 extra. The bed was a good size and comfortable, you could see the mountains from the car park and the suite was tastefully decorated, very clean and well-equipped. -

Great location, perfect views from the lounge to the sea, clean and comfortable rooms.Fantastic friendly and helpful man who ran the motel, he allowed us to stay a bit longer in the day so we could shower after our swim with the dolphins. Would definitely recommend to others and would stay here again. -

The staff were great for attending to our needs. they are a 25 minute walk from town, we had a bus to catch at 4pm and we were able to walk into town in the morning and they kindly dropped our luggage off to us later in the afternoon so we didnt have to walk back to get it. They do the free drop off and pick up which was unbelievably helpful. It was a great price for the room we had. We required a later check out and they extended it by an hour which was more than enough and at no extra charge.

I liked the guy that runs it, very "salt of the earth" and a happy sort of a chappy. He gave us a voucher for the Pier Hotel where we'd booked for dinner so we got a free wine and beer with our meal. I loved it in the morning when the sunrise looked like it was coming across the water especially for me. I had a nice early morning walk on the beach

Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable and a great location close to the sea. Value for money.
Nice to have outside furniture to use and able to fit bigger group.
