  Hotel Suisse is the cleanest place I have ever stayed, polished wood parquet floors, the bathrooms very modern, and the wi-fi worked great in the room! Each room is a bit different. It has a very "Italian" feel to it. The staff is fluent in English, and very helpful. The continental breakfast delivered to your room beautifully served. Everyone is smiling and trying to make your trip as comfortable as possible. The food from the restaurant is some of the best that I have had in all of Italy.   Great value, basic, functional hotel. Ideal for pre cruise overnight in Civitavechia which is what we did. Staff (Ana) were extremely friendly, and helpful, the room was clean and a good shower. Breakfast was nicely presented continental style, meat, cheese, croissants, yogurt, cereals, tea, coffee.   I very much liked the simple, un-fussy atmosphere, like an old fashioned pensione; the situation was superb, with the Pantheon outside my window. But I thought it was too expensive for what it was - €170 a night is a lot for a very unpretentious place. - Fantastic room, not in the actual hotel. View of Panthenon, wow! Good security.

It is also a short walk to the station, which was a big advantage. It is close to the metro, and if you like walking it is an enjoyable walk to most attractions.
