Great place! The cabin sits on beautifully landscaped grounds next to
the main house & views of surrounding mountains & volcanoes!
Arie picked us up from the airport & took us back ($10 each way but
better than a cab ride). Cabin is done in the typical mountain theme
much like Lake Tahoe where we lived for 40 years. Breakfast was very
good each morning and his family is very nice. Maria his wife owns a
great food & drinks establishment in Tumbaco. Actual Mexican nachos
and real . kaikki arvostelut »
Arie and his wife were wonderful hosts and made me feel very comfortable. For an extra fare, I was able to get a ride to the cabin and to the airport, which was convenient. The cabin is also close to public transportation and the airport. If you are flying to another destination, it is a good place to stay. The cabin/apartment was designed by Arie himself and very attractive! Though I did not tour with him this time, Arie offers adventure tours to the most popular outdoor destinations around Qu.
We stayed for 1 night at Arie's Cabin because we had an early flight the next morning. The cabin is located 15min from Quito Airport so we didn't have to take the usual 1+hour drive from the city. Location is very beautiful, the cabin was extreme comfortable, big, clean and nicely furnished. Arie is very friendly and helpful. The place is not located directly on the mainroad but in a smaller road (our taxi driver couldn't find it directly :-)).
Easy drive from Quito airport, personalised service and pickup from the airport. Arie's extra effort with small details made my last day in South America really relaxed and enjoyable. Hand built cabin and lovely garden. Comfortable bed, decor had much attention to detail. I felt welcome and was sorry that I could only spend 1 day there before flying home. Quiet and spacious accommodation with lovely hosts. Highly recommended.
I arrived at the airport at midnight and got through customs after 1am.
Arie was there to pick me up and charged me the same as a taxi - $10.
The cabin is comfortable, clean and with nice character. His property is
beautiful. This was the perfect way to be welcomed into the country.
Arie met me at airport on time, and it is only 10 minutes from the new
airport. It was very quiet and nice. Arie is very friendly and
informative about Ecuador, having moved here 16 yrs. Ago. Cabin is nice,
and the bed was very comfortable.
The close proximity to the airport saves time and money, especially before an early morning departure. The cabin is comfortable and private. Arie is friendly and helpful. There was at least one restaurant within walking distance.
Arie was a great host, picked us up at airport and dropped us off for
$10 each way. Even made us breakfast at 3:00am before early flt. Very
nice cabins. One for my four daughters and one for me and wife, both
were adorable.
Arie picked us up right on time and stopped for us to pick up dinner. Icing on the cake, he made us warm sandwiches at 4.30am before sending us to the airport! And the towels smells fresh and lovely! Top marks all around!.
Arrived on a late flight from states. Arie picked us up and got us settled in. Very nice grounds tucked in off the street, cute little cabin. Arie spent the day with us taking us around Quito. Would go there again.
Arie picked us up from the airport at 2:00 am and we had a place to sleep on our layover in Quito. Great option for those late night arrivals in Quito!.
Arie's friendlyness and helpfullness and servicemindness.
The short discurtions about society also serie interesting.
All the best.
Ida and Jen.
Arie is a great guy and goes out of his way to accomodate. The location is excellent. It's a very nice property with big cabins to accommodate 2-4 people. Also has a stove and microwave. Arie is friendly and will pick up and drop you at the airport at any time.
nothing.
Nothing.
This would be a great place to stay, even for long term, but it lacks a kitchen. I was able to cook in Arie's home, which was nice of him to allow. However, it would be ideal if there was an electric-cooktop put in the cabin. Arie is working on getting wifi also.
No complaints.
There was no Wifi-access, nor a working TV.
Only thing I didn't like was the restaurant he recommended to go to.
The place was weird and the food was not that good. Not a lot of choices
in walking distance though.
The water heater needs some work. The bathrooms use the instant heater for hot water and there's hardly a drizzle to shower with!! It feels cold and damp in quito at night/morning to shower with cold water.
Bathroom had hair on the floor.
the place was suppose to be a " two bedroom bungalow, with fridge, microwave & oven , it was a bedroom with one bed and bunk beds , nothing more , it had a 12 inch tele , with no remote , NO HOT WATER , ,,NEVER AGAIN !!.
