The whole experience was excellent from walking in the door and being greeted by friendly, interesting people and being shown to a very clean, cosy (warm), well equiped bedroom. They were both very friendly, helpful and definitely added considerably to our enjoyment of our stay in the area.We stayed with elderly parents who have limited mobility and they were made very welcome .The stairs to the rooms on the first floor presented little problem to them.We have no hesitation in recommending

We booked this online for a midweek short break and as a fusy person I am particular where I stay but this place was a little gem and we thoroughly enjoyed the place and owners. we spent three gloriousl nights , we had the best room in the house patio doors looking over green fields and water . Breakfast excellent ,cant fault it .The only advice i can offer guests is: when paul tells you about a twenty minute walk make sure you get the right directions otherwise it could take an hour and a half.Eddie

The setting is quiet and tranquil with only a short drive to other larger villages, the coast and mountains. The guesthouse was stunning, beautiful interior and very comfortable. Kays Cottage is a lovely place to stay to visit Windermere and beyond. Close to village centre and the lake and ideally situated for the main routes to other parts of the Lake District yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The welcome and service could not be more friendly and helpful yet unobtrusive. Breakfast is perfect and all of the rooms have thoughtful extra touches, choice of teas and coffees, biscuits and toiletries.

Fantastic location with owners and staff alike all gave us a 101 per cent of their time felt like family.Exceptional service given to all who stay there.Would highly recommend to any , as the peace, beauty and tranquillity took you over.
We went for our 40th Ruby Wedding Anniversary and they made it really special when they found out.

We stayed at elder grove for 3 nights and it was a wonderful weekend the hosts vicki and Paul are absolutely lovely the breakfast is fab and whenever we had a question they were always happy to help they also had brilliant maps for us to take out on our journeys which were very easy to follow Paul chose a walk for us as we weren't sure and it was perfect, I hope we weren't to much trouble because they will definitely be seeing us again infact I think my parents are now going next month on our r

after a long journey our exhaust bracket on car had snapped,while Gail showed us to our room Steve strapped exhaust up to get us home after our stay.

- Excellent value for money given the cost of hotels in the area. Wouldn't stay anywhere else when
