superb food,exellent and very helpfull staff, do not be put off by the price of food its not your regular steak and chips type of thing and its cooked to order! yself and my husband and another couple stayed 1 night and chose this hotel due to the location - close to seascale but the location was beautiful the bar was a typical country inn type, the staff friendly, food was good & the Kamikazi real ale went down well. We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.

we payed a little more for a Lakeland room and it was well worth the mony, the only thing we would say is that the room was over the bar and it was a little noisey but that stopped as soon as the bar closed. - Everything! The welcome from the reception staff, the warmth and cosiness of the room, the great variety of menus, lovely.......will return

I love Eskdale and come in every year. Usually stay at Stanley but was full so booked Woolpack which we also knew for food/drink. Really enjoyed our stay, staff were great and good value for money. See you in August. Thanks x -

I thought everything about the hotel was good. It was quiet and the room was spacious clean and had all the facilities required for a pleasant stay. Breakfast similarly provided all that was required to start a day. A good choice of cereal, cooked food or cold food if preferred with a range of drinks to suit all. Really enjoyed stay as base for visiting family in Cumbria. We were able to bring our two dogs rather than leave at home for small price per night. This was fabulous for us and a surprise as not realised when booked. Also free car park a real bonus for location and so convienient. Great shower in bathroom and as good as you get anywhere. All in all enjoyed 3 night stay with location short distance to walk to castle and park for dogs.Would recommend for budget conscious comfortable accommodation

El Desayuno; bueno, variado con una amplia oferta. El aparcamiento cómodo. No recomiendo este pueblo, Granger Over sands pues esta muy muerto incluso para ser Inglaterra, destino de gente muy mayor y tiene pocos servicios turisticos. Mejor Ambleside o Windermere mas animados y de mas servicios, y además mas centrados en el Lake District para todo.

I accidentally booked a twin room instead of a double via this website, sent them an email concerning this error, and my room was changed the next day and I was notified via a phone call. Excellent service all round. Also my bathroom had recently been refurbished by the looks of it and has a very nice jacuzzi bath. Nice. - Very friendly and helpful. Hotel room was excellent, very clean, everything we needed. The breakfast was superb, fresh fruit salad available, excellent. We got 3 nights for price of 2, fantastic value, couldn't have been better. Will return again

the welcoming atmosphere, friendly, helpful, but not over-intrusive staff. Hotel does not have unrealistic pretensions, it knows itself and doesn't pretend otherwise. Room was spotless and comfortable, with a surprisingly large bathroom. The food was great, again unpretentious, honest, generous and cheerfully presented. -

It was in an excellent location for our needs, we had a friends wedding to attend in maryport.
The staff were all vey friendly and helpful.The tea making facilities in the room with biscuits was good, and the room was lovely and warm. overall, it was a lovely old country house, and we would definetly stay there again.
