Lo que la gente dice
A beautiful setting. Lovely local inn which has been tastefully modernised inside with oak furnishings and dark soft brown comfy chairs. Great friendly staff and food was fantastic. A beautiful large beer garden with tables, chairs and umbrellas. Continental breakfast with a good varied choice, fresh and tasty. Ample free newspapers to browse through whilst drinking coffee in one of the sofa chairs. What more could one ask for? Wish we could have had longer. todo comentarios »
The room was well appointed; the bed was good. One female member of
staff was brilliant: provided compensatory item after complaint
about lasagne; very helpful indeed. Beer was good. Decor downstairs
was tasteful. Other members of staff were also pleasant and helpful.
Full marks.
Very friendly staff who accommodated our late change of plans without batting an eye even though it meant we checked out earlier than we had booked to. The food was also great and the service was superb.
I was very happy with the helpful friendly staff, the food was amazing, my family were given a warm welcome, the food/bar area is lovely and comfortable.
i will be coming back next year.

Off road car park with cameras as we were on motorbikes, friendly people restaurant served till 10pm as we were late arrivals.
Lovely restaurant... Amazing food! Close to Wildwood golf course in Alford. Great value for money! Lots of character.
like the modern deco and smart rooms and bedding etc.very nice and comfy. also very nice restuarant.
The location. The modern style and comfort of the bedrooms and I enjoyed the selection of beers!.
Nice bathroom and shower. Nice pub/bar downstairs. Comfy beds. Enough space in family room.

The restaurant at The Inn on The Lake was very good and strong value for money. The home made burger was a particular favourite. The continental breakfast was also very varied and fresh.
The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The food looked good from the restaurant, but I did not eat there due to high prices.
The en suite room was lovely overlooking the lake. Continental breakfast was wonderful.
The room was large, the shower was excellent, the bed was comfy and the
facilities good.
Convenient for visiting family and to town centre with free parking on site.
Location.
Leaving and checking out.
We weren't keen on staff in jeans. A picture in the lounge was
falling off the wall. The mirror for shaving was too far away -
separated by sink. The lasagne - after a long and busy day no doubt -
was very tired. It said in the bedroom that a telephone could be used.
No telephone. Apparently hq told them to take it out. It might have been
useful. Need for joined up thinking.
The pub smell in the corridor
The draft through the room window
The noise during the night from outside the back of hotel
The lack of heat in bathroom
The lighting in the room (all down lit)
The breakfast plastic packets.
Like to travel light as on a motorbike would have liked some conditioner to go with the shampoo.
Not much to say here... Except we couldn't pick up itv on the tv so kids missed britains got talent on Saturday night! But it didn't bother us!.
Very poor breakfast. Not alot of food items available. Not many cups or glasses to drink out of. very poor service.
My company VPN could not engage with the WIFI. I managed to do this by sitting in the front bay window of the pub downstairs and linking into a BT WIFI link from the local houses!!
I would have preferred to have a bath and a shower.
The shower did not drain well so I couldn't spend the time I would have liked in it.
Staff were not particularly helpful, especially at breakfast. Tea and coffee lukewarm with breakfast.
The noise from the terrace at 11.30pm Sunday night as our room was directly above.
lack of crockery and condiments at breakfast
butter not readily available at breakfast for toast.
no water glasses in the room - we did ask a barmaid but nothing appeared. a small thing but irritating.
TV system, would be better with free view than half a sky system.
I was surprised that there was no mini bar for a late night, that there was no glass in the bathroom to rinse ones teeth after cleaning and no comfortable chair to watch television from and the minimal television channels available. For me it was very expensive for what it was.
Shower room didn't have heating and it was cold weather!
Shower room fan continued far too long after being turned off and the noise was irritating, even with door closed.
Inn does not have air conditioning and in light of the fact we visited during the warmest spell we were somewhat overwhelmed with heat. There was a large party on the outside deck who was loud and raucous. Difficult to fall asleep with the noise and heat. The inn did provide a fan for us which helped somewhat. Additionally the bathroom had a moldy smell which required us to leave the exhaust fan on overnight.
shower broken on arrival, mould in shower which could have been cleaned, window frames very tired and needed cleaning / painting, family room booked but only 2 cups and no tea spoons to be found!.
When paying £95 for a hotel room you expect it to at least have freeview. only 10 pre chosen channels available. ok if your a tourist, not so good if your working away.
Expensive room rate £95.00 for one person in a double room, with only a continental breakfast. You had to pay extra for cooked breakfast.
Cheap toiletries in bathroom and cheap toilet roll; not what you would expect at this cost.
Meals & bar prices top-end on price too.
Mattress was lumpy. Bathroom floor could have been cleaner and towels were marked. However, whoever cleaned the room on the Saturday morning did a better job.
We were in room 11,and it was directly over the garbage bins and it
STUNK.as there was no air con,we had to keep the windows open,it was so
hot.they also tried to take an extra £42 for phantom services.not happy
about that.
Outside Could do with a tidy up. Bedroom OK and clean but bed too small, bathroom has no hooks to hang towels, shower has no shelf for soaps. Meals average, one served cold but replaced and we needed to ask for cutlery etc. Hot water for tea at breakfast only warm, and had to hunt for staff to get replaced!.
Continental breakfast only. Very little to offer, not happy with it at
all. English breakfast £8.00 per person Restaurant menu- ok but
expensive for what it was Rooms look much better in the pictures.
*Shower leaked and sprayed water everywhere but out of head nossle
*Rooms were dirty and stank of smoke *Log fire downstairs was obviously
not insulated properly and left all rooms stinking and on the nightime
it was hurting our eyes, as it was so bad we had to ask the staff to put
it out *Broken tiles on the bathroom floor *Noise was awful from bar
downstairs til early hours of the morning, one room was above the bar
and our other overlooked the numerous industrial bins and stank!.
