If you are staying in Colombo this is the place to be if you don't
want the generic hotel that's in every city. It is still the best
location even though there is a refurbished hotel at the other end of
Galle face Green with nice rooms but not not the same quality or class
by a million miles. Make sure you are in the new wing as the old wing
is now very tired although it was the best a few years back. I think
it is being refurbished and then it will be the better wing as the
rooms are huge.

I'm very pleased to recommend this hotel with all my heart. Speally the owener of the hotel Mr Kushantha was a really nise person and very friendly. Also I really would like to say Janil and Ravi who work over there was nise, kind and very polite. Hospitallaty was excelant. The hotel was in very good lacation and it was very clean. Besides the fact that the hotel is an interior design gem in the middle of Colombo and the staff were fantastic from start to finish - at the end of our trip my wife fell very ill. The hotel staff rushed us to the hospital, where they didn't speak English, they stayed with me and dealt with everything until around 3am. They were patient, caring, and generally fantastic. The room was incredible. Like stepping abck in time. It was full of beautiful old furniture yet the design was modern - a perfect fusion. I have stayed in many 5* boutique hotels and this one is by far the best room. Must be seen to be believed. Would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone, in fact I urge you to go here!!! -

It was a real pleasure to stay in Cinnamon Grand Colombo at the end of our holidays in Sri Lanka.
What struck us first is a very warm and professional welcome. I wish I could have that in Europe. The room was not very big as you could expect from an executive room yet spacious enough. The design really nice yet simplistic which I really liked. A complimentary bottle of wine, mineral water, a bowl of fruit and chocolates were a nice surprise.

I stayed here for 5 nights at the end of my trip to Sri Lanka. Check in was efficient and my room was large, clean and bright. There were two twin beds pushed together which I don't like but they were large beds so no problem. There's a/c and a good fan. The bathroom is large and clean and everything works.
There's a good range of sports channels on the TV and a large movie collection available to borrow.

Excellent stay if you like peace/quiet/nature. A little far from Colombo City - about 15 drive if no traffic.
The Staff (Michael and Edwin) were just excellent and attentive to details and always ready at your service.
