Front desk was very friendly. The gentleman that worked the front desk the day of the 24th was so nice. My grandson came with us and he had homework to do. The Wifi would not work in our room and he reset to try to get it to work, which did not help. However, he did allow my grandson to sit in the lobby and do his homework (which worked out fine for us). I thought that was very nice of him.
all reviews » Hotel is in a convenient location. Centered on the beach and at a main intersection for traveling the area. Room had a great view of the ocean and had all of the amenities you need. Hotel has a secure parking garage. The whole stay at Econo Lodge Oceanfront was wonderful. The location on the strip where there were so many stores and resturants. It was great. Staff was friendly...room was clean...had frig and microwave...convenient location...nice!!. Great staff, prime location, mini fridge/freezer and microwave oven. The room was very clean and the staff us very polite. The ocean views, breakfast buffet and the staff. It was very clean and the staff was wonderful. Location,clean,friendly staff, free breakfast. Breakfast, kind staffs, nice location. everybody was friendly and helpful. We had a good time. All of it... Ocean front. Staff. It was convenient! Right at the beach. Clean and quite even though we were right at the boardwalk. Close to everything! Most of the staff was really nice!. We would stay again. Did not care for the buffet. Should have other hot things on the buffet, and considering we were there for four nights, it was the same every morning. Also,housekeeping sucked. TWICE I left the room, they were in the hall cleaning rooms and I asked them if they could do my room next. Both times we came back over an hour later and they had not been done. I THINK this was a "communication" problem between me and them. I did not like the first front desk clerk. She did not have customer service skills. She was very rude and basically called me a liar. The General Manager immediately handled the situation and knew that I was not lying about the whole situation. That clerk no longer works there and I do hope that she finds a job that is more suitable for her and where she is happy at. Parking garage was as little tight but the norm at Va Beach. Bed is not comfortable. Facilities slightly outdated. Some odors about the hallways, otherwise nothing else. No complaints. Small pool, slick floor, one elevator. the pool was to small. I seen a bug but what hotel dose have a bug every now and then. A little cramped but really can't beat it for the price...no complaints!. pool small & one Elevator. The only thing I didn't like was the 9th floor hallways were hot. Everything else was great. I didn't like that there was a marathon and we couldn't get off the street. I would have been nice if someone at the hotel told us that at check in. Over priced for double beds.For the money you pay during beach season it needs a better breakfast. The indoor pool had sand in it. One of the staff was rude to my girls when asked about Wifi. I don't like your breakfast without fruits, bacon, sausage and eggs. That is totally unexceptable. I travel for a living (30 yrs) so I know hotels, and this hotel is way over-priced for what you get. No outside pool, only one elevator, inferior beds, linens, towels. You can hear next door(thin walls) I was scolded by mainten. man because I asked for more towels, he instructed me not to hang "do not disturb" sign if I wanted towels, cleaning will not respond after a certain time? He banged on my door at 10pm, after I req. them at 6pm?. I did not like the size of the room, and the beds were so uncomfortable that I did not sleep the whole time we were there. People on front desk. Rude, bitter. You get what u pay for. Its a budget "friendly" hotel for an in-demand hotel oceanfront. You get the basics. For example, they supply shampoo but no conditioner. The room temp is controlled by a very loud but effective unit if u like it hot or cold, the middle ground is hard to find. So the hotel is ok if you have no illusions of luxury. High rate because of busy event. Rooms like that should be 100-130 per night not 200. Room a little smaller than anticipated; pictures not representative of the actual size/layout. Staff coud provide more attention to the dining area during Breakfast Hours. AC Units leaking/condensate on all Patios. in the room have spiderwebs the valcony door could not open. The windows,balcony,bathroom were all filthy. There were no Internet service in my room as promised, I complained several times but it wasn't fixed. People who work there are not friendly and the room is not clean! Plus when I booked online the price is $189.99 but when I check in at the hotel it go up to $219.99 and I am very upset. rooms old- dirty- need renovation-room safe did not work-. price,parking you can'T get but one parking pass we had two vehicles and to ride around for A hour to find somewhere to park the other car.there were plenty of vacant parking spaces thru out the whole stay. Elevator (only one) was very very slow. Rude staff who hung up on me twice. Wi fi was not useable and the manager seemed as though she could care less.
