The entire place was spanish tile and it was so relaxing. We were fortunate to meet the General Manager on our last day and he was kind enought o give us the history of the hotel. We will definately return!. The location is wonderful, close to many good restaurants and shops, and the Del Coronado. Charming old hotel, friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Would definitely stay there again.
all reviews » The way the Hotel was layed out offered one of a kind ambiance. The close shopping, restaurants and beach. The pool and hot tub were layed out well. I would recommend someone to stay there. it was within walking distance of everything(dining, beach, shopping, bars, banking.) Area was friendly and peaceful, and most relaxing. Location--close to everything in the village and close to the beach. Good restaurants on site. Spacious apartment great for families. Everything was wonderful. The downside of the hotel is that they don't have any private parking so you have to find street parking at meters. Luckily the meters are free overnight, but meter parking is always a bit tricky. The tempiture in the shower wasn't very consistent. Slim parking...you have to find a spot on the street a few blocks away or pay a meter. Slim walls so if your neighbors are loud you will hear them. There is no onsite hotel parking. Yet you would never need your car for the area. No screens on windows (danger to small children) Glass shower doors (danger to small children) Plumbing issue: shower scalds then freezes you intermittently. No Parking. My only comment for improvement would be to upgrade the food available at breakfast. Could use some healthier foods other then apples and bananas. Mostly it was all sugar. Perhaps yogurt and hard boil eggs. Rooms are cold Didn't know my air conditioner was also heat control. Been coming for years and didn't know that.. My bad???Maybe only came in warmer months??? In spite ...love this destination!!!. The couch bed was very uncomfortable. The restaurant that served the continental were not policte after you gave them the coupon and told them that you were having the cont breakfast and not ordering off of the menu. There was construction going on so we didn't use the pool because of the noise. No shelves in bathroom or towel bars in Ada unit. Nothing. Some things are missing- hair blow dryer, ironing, and laundry bag. The only problem is not to have a parking lot. Very noisy, you can hear the restaurants setting up for the day. The water in the shower would switch for extremely hot or extremely cold during a shower. Wasn't clean , stains on bedding . Restraunt was under construction ! Very loud construction ! Should have been discounted being under construction right under our room !!'. Noise! The rooms sits atop a stairwell, which funnels noise to the room. Bottom of stairs was outside restaurant/patio , very loud! Pressure washing at midnight!!! Staff indifferent! NO PARKING!. Dirty room Room smells like old wet carpet Soiled, worn off carpets Poor looking, out of date interior No proper heating, drafty room Old bed sheets 2 tiny pillows for 2 people occupancy Dark room.
