Super friendly staff that went way beyond what would nromally be expected.and very comfortble rooms. It was close to where I needed to be in Astoria Queens.the quality of the accomadation. It is a very tasteful designed hotel with beautiful rooms and view on the East River, Manhattan etc. Nice and helpful staff. The room was very confortable and decorated with good taste. The TV was great!.

The Ravel hotel is really new and has heaps of potential - it is close to Manhattan and looking towards the NY skyline is an asset. Relatively close to main attractions at reasonable price. I liked the modern rooms. Rooms are new and clean (including the bathroom). The viewe from the room. design and interior of hotel is beautiful. the roof terras is also great. although the view is ruined because of the powerplat in front of the hotel.The bed!. bed. They didnt have enough carts to take your bags up to your room. There wasn't any shower caps in the bathroom . The location is not terribly good, and I only found out about the shuttle in my last day. Pretty far from the subway (10-15 minutes walk) and location is not on very nice area. No possibility for proper breakfast at the hotel (some goods for sale though). Lack of in-room breakfast, no cutlery for eating the cafe-bought cereal, loud clicking of the airconditioner.Location but nothing can be done about that. Reservation price quote on line differed with hotel charges (had tonegociate down to quoted price - all were happy in the end), Exclusiveuse of one limo serverce was quite expensive ($40 to downtown comparedto $2 for subway). 5 dollar fee to 2 minute car ride to subway. Some nights there were loud noise from nearby power plant. THe location - it was a fairly long distance from subway / bus services,although the hotel did offer a shuttle service (at a cost). The location of the Hotel is not convenient for services eg good restaurants pleasant coffee shops and is in a old industrial location that is disconcerting at certain times of the day. Some of the room planning is odd ie no electrical outlets where you need them and the plumbing often rattles. They should serve a fresh breakfast as part of their package instead of pre packaged food that you. The area arround the hotel is industrial and therefore not so nice. One big disadvantage is that the toilett in the room is not a closed seperate box. It's open on the top and you don't feel private when sitting there. It's difficult to get a yellow cab there and the stuff only calls you a so called "gipsy cab" which is very expensive compared to a yellow cab. On their website it's said that all rooms had river view, we were given a room overlooking a parking space, after we complained they told us they had a room with river view but they would have to charge us $30 more per night. Also the subway station was to far away.location. The hotel is very close to the Queensboro bridge and there is quite a bit of noise from the traffic on the bridge. They have not built the property with double glazed external windows and consequently the room was a bit noisy.Lack of breakfast facility. The hotel seemed new, also the staff.However some things could have been done differently, even tho the staff is new.Its the small touches that make it or brake it. Location was not good. The interior concept of the room :even if the room is confortable thebath room is an open space(!!!)in the room (also the wc)and this isvery stupid.The position is good but no one taxi drivers knows it andhow to arrive. The location in an industrial section of Long Island. staff service...long time check in and out. staff is lazy a uninterested. there is no proper breakfast or diner possibilities in the hotel. just a simpel shop with sandwiches and tea. prices of food are outragious, because there is no room to enjoy the food and the personnel needs to be hailed in order to help you. distance to nearest subway is 10min walk. neighbourhood is unsafe for single women. no good price-value. No services, facilities or amenities! Terrible shower (no pressure). Very over priced for what was given :-(. terrible location.
