Great location. Beside subway station and just a 5min ride into Manhattan. So handy. Easy to find if travelling from jfk. Area was safe but not a lot to see around the hotel. There doesn't really need to be though, as Manhattan is just across the river. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Room was great, very comfy and clean. The hotel in general was very clean. Great price compared to hotels in Manhattan but still so close to all the sites. Breakfast was great! Pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast.
all reviews » The location may not be the most attractive one in NYC but it is very convenient - fast transportation to the hotel from the JFK airport by subway; only few minutes subway ride to Manhattan. The subway station is so close to the hotel, that when you got off the station you can actually see the hotel right from there. The vicinity of the hotel seems to be quite safe and it was rather quiet in the night. We had very good view on Empire State building and Queensboro bridge from the hotel room. The. Close to subway F-station (really, two blocks; 20min to TimeSq, 30min to jfk), food market and fastfood (Subway). Normal breakfast (for usa, of course): milk, flakes, juice, pancakes, cakes, yoghurt, tea, poor coffee :) etc. Clean rooms. Quetly. Friendly staff. Good price for ny. Для Нью-йорка приятная цена. The hotel was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Staff were always very helpful. The reception desk is maintained 24 hrs a day and a guard is continually on duty for security. Not grand accommodation but very comfortable and well priced. Would definitely stay in this hotel again. The suburb of Queens appears to have been cleaned up considerably and we felt relatively safe. We stayed four nights and were impressed with the friendly staff and custodial people who answered all our questions and were helpful. Best Western provided a nice place to rest, eat breakfast and use the internet. We even could print our boarding passes. There were a few stores close by to get supplies and good food. Also the subway was only a block away. Staff very friendly and even had one of the front desk clerks offer me some menus from places that deliver, since they aren't real close to any food establishments. One of the subway stations is only about 1 block from the hotel, so very convenient to get to-and-from nyc. Liked that the breakfast hours were a bit longer, (til 10am), than most places. The staff was excellent, allowing us to check in early, and even leave our car a couple hours after checkout. The indoor parking was well worth the extra $5 compared to the groupons for lots in the city, given their proximity to the hotel. The biggest perk was having a subway for the f train just a couple blocks away. Comfortable room.Great breakfast. Great location just minutes from subway. Never felt unsafe on either subway or walking around hotel. Exploring Queens is great. Walking around Gantry with stunning views of Manhattan, visiting the Sculpture Park, the Nogoschi Museum etc. Eat at Tournesol, a dream french cafe.. The room was so nice, it was the place that you know you can rely on and the bed was so comfortable and clean. Also, the location is great, very near to metro, only 3-4 minutes walk and when you come back late at night, it is not dangerous and dark to walk from underground to hotel at all. Air conditioning plant right outside window made a considerable noise at all hours of the day. Not much negative except you probably wouldn't want to walk much at night around the area. Coming back from Manhattan at night was no problem since the subway is close by. Had quite a few issues with the wifi not working very well in our room. The hotel is not close to any restaurants, so if you want to eat around the area, expect a long walk, or delivery. Getting into the parking area was difficult, with the side and back roads blocked temporarily by vans for the cleaning company across the back street. Minor gripe that is no fault of the hotel itself. It's a city, have to expect things like that. Would like to re-organise the Breakfast area..... long tables with benches on each side would accommodate many more. The staff could be more helpful if they want to be one, unfortunately not. The breakfast had little food, bananas are not enough even I went down to grab them so early in the morning. Nothing. Are room was in the end of the hall, so internet didn´t work good. Try to avoid rooms 111 and 113 as they are the (only) rooms on the first floor and they can be a bit noisy when people arrive for breakfast from 6am or decide to work out in the gym (next door). breakfasts were quite poor, but positive was that we didn't have to look for food starting from the morning. - Had difficulty finding my confirmation; needed to guarantee late arrival and it took the front desk over ten minutes to confirm - room was a bit dark; only a number of table lamps, no ceiling lights - room facing the main street can be a bit noisy - breakfast facility was a bit small; was crowded around 9-9:30am. The 21st-Queensbridge station near the hotel was under renovation/repair when I was there so often the F train was rerouted and we had to take a detour. But nothing hotel related. The neighborhood looks not very friendly in the night though it's safe It was hard to connect to WiFi in the mornings. The city view room doesn't really have a city view, since a giant, same sized building is blocking most of it. need to pay for parking, breakfast is of poor quality. Subway to Manhattan. All the rooms facing the street are very noisy because of the traffic during all night. Try to book a room in the rear (very quiet) !. Restaurant was a small fo the size of the hotel no room for breakfast. Location. When we rushed to the Penn station to get a train in the early morning of Sunday, subway line f in 21 street did not have trains to Manhattan, a detour cost us 30 minutes. Fortunately we made it at the last minute. The WiFi was terribly slow & unstable & even though breakfast was included, they provided the same buffet menu every single day. - stayed for 5 nights - breakfast was still the same (sweets, eggs, yogurths) - we have to use wi-fi connection from next-door hotel (recommendation of our reception), but OK. The immediate location is a bit grimy, not the best part of Queens. Not sure its very safe at night. However, subway is close. no IT access in the room (only in lobby), little choice for breakfasts,. the neighbourhood is a bit creepy and the internet was not working sometimes.
