Great spa, great setting, very, very nice and helpful staff. Very good food except for the Gurney burger--dry and tasteless. Nice rooms, great views, comfortable beds. Very clean and comfortable baths. It was a wonderful place to escape and relax. Everyone who worked there was friendly and professional.We had a 2 bedroom suite right on beach.We had a problem with guests overhead. Front desk immediately offered us to move to another suite no problem. Great customer service.
all reviews » The updated rooms are a real plus. Unfortunately, I did not have time to use any of the spa facilities. I had dinner one evening. The food was good and the service staff friendly and professional. I would definitely stay again. Loved our room over the beach, with the sound of the surf and even a seagull perching on balcony railing. Off-season is the best! Despite having a pretty skeletal staff working, we received very good service. Location is the key word here. Relaxing is the second one. Allow yourself to wind down to Montauk time and you will find yourself enjoying this great resort. The location is absolutely magnificent. Food and spa treatments are all healthy and top notch but a little pricey. Staff is wonderful. Rooms are average. Staff was great and very attentive. They upgraded us to ocean view and it was fantastic. Very relaxing. the location does not get any better! front row to the Atlantic Ocean was wonderful!. Beautiful location! Clean room. I guess I misread it and thought it was a $20 fee not 20%. I would rather see a flat fee for the gym, pool and spa general usage and the room fee that includes the basics other hotels offer. At least in the non peak times. The indoor pool was closed as was hot tub. (one of the reasons we went there). The restaurant staff was still in hibernation mode, slow and making some mistakes. The food was fantastic in contrast. Rooms could be a little fancier for the price. Very expensive for room. Dinner places could be more child friendly. your change of breakfast hours (as per your ad in the room) due to a "family affair"; so said the butler when we appeared in the café. this shows a poor respect for your hosts (US). Sorry, it had to be said. Every thing else was perfect. Too small rooms. Gurneys is an old establishment that looks tired and needs a face lift. Rooms are small and musty smelling. Price for value. Plumbing in rooms not functioning in proper manor, lingering cigarette oder, mattress in poor shape. needs to be re-done A bit tired looking!.
