My husband and I had a wonderful kid-free vacation in West Hollywood while we stayed at the Chamberlain. The rooms were very clean and the lobby had a nice, luxurious feel top it, almost a modern take on Old Hollywood. The hotel is situated between Sunset and Santa Monica so it is central if you are visiting Hollywood and Beverly Hills. The staff was extremely helpful, recommending many places we could go in walking distance from the hotel as well as places to drive to see. Definitely recommend.
all reviews » It was a spacious & comfortable contemporary suite tucked away off Sunset Blvd. Close to all the action, but tucked away in a residential type area. Very quiet. Excellent gym for a hotel. Very cool decor. Great hotel in a nice residential neighborhood between Santa Monica Blvd and Sunset Blvd. The bilingual staff is very friendly and accommodating. There are many restaurants nearby within walking distance. Everthing!. ambience. This hotel is in a good location - more or less in between Sunset Boulevard an Melrose. The pool is really nice and chilled and the rooms are large and spacious with comfy beds. Style, location, gym, professionalism of staff. They were very accommodating when we requested a different room (due to a neighboring room's noise). The staff was attentive to all concerns we brought to their attention. The room was comfortable. Location, walking distance to several places( restaurants, bars shopping people watching). The rating of the staff goes down due to one staff member at the pool bar. Pay attention to all the guests and not only the female ones. Unacceptable to have asked 3 times for service and none received, in the end left the bar went to a bar outside of the hotel. Price for parking was on the high side when staying a week as a guest, one would have expected a discount. They had to come and request my credit card again at 10pm since their system had a glitch and they lost my card details... I was not aware that parking was an additional 36 dollars. Although glad they had parking at all since the area is residential and business intermingled. Had a room at the front of the hotel was a little noisy first thing in the morning. Service in the restaurant can sometimes be patchy. No free wi-fi. There was no cold drink minibar. There were many problems with the Internet, which were unable to resolve till the end. They didn't charge for it, though, which was good. cost of parking was excessive room too dark nickel & diming for everything from snacks, items in refrigerator and bathroom. afraid to use anything in room for fear that you would be charged. lack of central air - the single room air conditioner didn't cut it. Website states room service 24hr. It is not. Rooms do not have much natural light. Too many add on charges and no tea/coffee making machines in rooms as standard. Drinks at the pool bar are not worth the money. My Hendricks G&T came with flat Tonic at first and our friend's Mojito's were not great either. Other than that, a very good overall experience. The shower did not have a ledge, so when we showered the water went all over the bathroom floor. Very unsafe. It was a little noisy. You could hear other hotel rooms. there were a few stairs in the hallway that I had to go up and down with my suitcase. We probably didn't make the best choice of hotel for a young baby - the pool was lovely but not quite enough shade. Expensive daily parking rates. I didn't like that there was no free parking it was all valet and 39 dollars a night for parking . The phones were down, computer system down still waiting for them to email my info. To approve it. Ordered food at the pool, took forever and it was so cold. The communal areas were very small ie business centre, lobby lounge even the restaurant was quite tiny. This detracted from the lovely decor and feel of the hotel. Nothing. None. Parking is too expensive. 1.water from the bath cabin spilled out all over the bathroom floor. 2. very expensive parking. a little bit expensive. No coffee maker or ice machine. No kitchenet as stated. no free wifi, parking expensive. noise, dining/breakfast area.. small and not enough light. The inconsistency of the staff's demeanor and attitude. Nothing!. AC in hallways too cool. Parking at hotel a bit pricy. The hotel is tired - especially features like the lift, although the original features are nice it's a bit rough round the edges. The air conditioning machine in our room was very old and very noisy and the windows were also old making them not sound proof at all. When we arrived there also wasn't a safe in our room which we found quite odd - when the staff did deliver a safe, it didn't work. So they had to bring another one the next day. Seemed odd that valet was the rate it is. Pool area was not kept clean. Overall, while the hotel is great to look at and the staff is professional and smart, it all seems somehow non-managed, like there are folks *tending* it, but no-one making sure every detail is covered. Given what we paid for the room, we probably won't be back. Which is a bummer. There were many issues. We called before we came to confirm amenities, but when we arrived we had to have many of the items brought to our room; coffee pot, new fridge (existing one broken), safe had issues (couldn't get to lock). Very dark rooms, low lighting and no sunlight ,makes you sleep late. A little fowl odor , not overwhelming but not pleasant. The extortionate parking fees Over priced breakfast (room service) No free WiFi. Old Air condition unit cranked all night. Uncomfortable bed. The pillows and parking. The price you pay for the room per night should include internet! The internet didn't work at all. We had to walk to Starbucks to connect to the internet! and the price to park your car in the hotel is so expensive it is ridiculous!.
