The hotel is extremely beautiful, in an amazing location, perfectly maintained, and the service was impeccable. A friend had recommended staying in the original building. As an appreciator of history and architecture; that was a good call. It's fun people watching and there is great Asian food in the area. EVERYTHING!! From exciting the taxi and receiving leis, to gorgeous rooms, free mai tais, to banana muffins. Staff was super friendly, location was great with beautiful sunset views.

I have stayed at most hotels on the beach and always come back to this one. Is perfect. beautiful and peaceful relaxation in the morning looking beach with the morning coffee. The whole place evocative of a grand bygone era. Unless you knew the history and appreciated the iconic nature of the hotel you may think it was a bit run-down and 'old fashioned'. It's extremely expensive and, for me, too much so. Though I was ready for crowds, the water becomes impossible because of it. It was a fun experience; but I will most likely stay elsewhere next time. (1) Wifi in the bedroom was very poor. (2) In the spa, there were what appeared to be cleaning staff wandering around the areas used by clients just about to have a massage and just after having one, detracting considerably from the experience of relaxation. (3) Not enough staff available at checkout, leading to long waiting time in a queue for numbers of increasingly irritable guests. 1. Room facility is not match with the price, specially for the bathroom is a little bit smaller. 2. Ever compained to the Concierge for neignbour room's noisy, just because we were just one door distance. The room should be redecorated from a Suite room. But the staff dealing with the issue very fast. No noisy after that. Pool is small. Azure and Mai Tai only to choose for dining/drinks. Paying for the beach chairs despite having to pay a resort fee. If you pay a fee it should cover private beach chairs. Was hoping to see an SPG offer (e.g., 4th or 5th night free) to help with the cost. I may have booked too late this time to take advantage of that!. a bit overpriced. Free mia tia was a joke was offer something free and give an lessor quality product charge for the bed loungers.... Amenities are overrun by guests from neighbouring hotels Poor food. This hotel over charge me US$ 135 per day. I asked front desk when I checked out. They told me it was letsbookhotel.com made the decision. And after I back to Taiwan I asked letsbookhotel.com. letsbookhotel.com said it was hotel's decision. My reservation was $320 per day. And they charged me $455 per days without any reason. No extra bed. No reason.............Tsai Yuan Kai. All the add - on taxes. What is quoted is not what you pay. Eg apart from the multiple taxes and obligatory tips, their extraordinary daily us$36.00 'Resort charge' for "free" internet and a mini glass of sweet 'welcome' cordial, beach access & pool towel. Reception & check-in staff not particularly welcoming nor friendly.
