Everything about the Hotel is first class. From the moment we checked in the staff are so friendly and very professional everything was excellent. It was my birthday and we had chocolates left in the room and also a nice touch there had been placed a hot water bottle in the bed. Never had that before. Yes all in all a first class hotel one to come back to when we are celebrating something special.

Outside the hotel there are short walks which allows us to enjoy the greenery. The view,mind you it was £270 a night!. Nothing at all. when 'checking in' were informed that our special request (made on this website) for dinner both evenings had not been accepted. However staff resolved this for us that same evening and we were able to dine on one of the nights of our stay. However it did spoil our 'check in ' experience. Hotel phoned to indicate that a credit card would incur a charge - this was NOT clear on booking. Hotel makes a big fuss about its concierge services including a champagne lake cruise; when further information was requested the concierge knew nothing about it but provided a timetable of cruise times. Dinner was very good but only the dessert appeared special enough to be a Michelin star. Well this was a boutique hotel and our room is I think on the 2nd floor and no lift with narrow staircase. The hotel staff did helped us carry our luggage to our rooms when we checked in but did not offer to helpus carry them when we checked out. I wish they would have taken the initiative to offer this service as I had to make 2-3 trip bring my things back down to the lobby. If the mention is taken cared of it would make their service frm excellent to exceedingly superb. 11am checkout -could be a bit later especially on a sunday even just an hour longer would be good. Booking with letsbookhotel.com led to some confusion. We were never told, for instance, that our stay would be in a lodge and not the main hotel. Surely this was something important as it affects the mood of the entire sta. The bar prices (but I guess it is to be expected in a select hotel). Nothing. The bedroom we were given was very small ,in the attic and over looking the rear of he property.for a cost of £160 not value for money. the sounds caused by the stair step is kind of noisy. Unfortunately very young children crying and playing up right through breakfast. Not expected in a hotel of this price. The room decor is outdated compared to rivals, bath is pokey again compared to similar priced rivals. Wi Fi does not reach to the Langdale suite on any of our 3 devices. It wrongly states that there is a gym on the website which was a major factor in my booking with the hotel. It was therefore very disappointing to learn that there isnt when I arrived. I also feel that the 1% charge for paying by credit card is unnessary given the room rate and amount your guests are likely to spend when at the venue. While its not a lot of money, its the principal. My wife had a massage which was very disappointing.We both had afternoon tea which for a hotel with a Michelin star was very uninspiring.
