The high quality and standard of the house is reflected in the fact that it is one of the highest graded guesthouses in the area.

Situated in the heart of Torquay, during your stay you can easily access a number of local attractions, including the 19 beaches and coves along the English Riviera and Torre Abbey. For those staying on business, the Riviera Conference Centre is also nearby.

can't fault anything the hotel its self russell and jayne the breakfast and cleanliness was excellent very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble if you needed something or wanted clean towels every day you only had to ask room cleaned daily and coffee etc filled every day. The hotel is in a good location it will take you about ten mins to getto the town/beach. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast was great, Iwould stay here again.

Because of the hotels location near the cross-roads of two busy roads there's a lot of traffic noise as we had the windows open because of the warm weather. Parking is an issue. The amount of stairs to the top room (ours) after Christmas dinner! Too warm in our room as we didn't discover boiler was in it until last day. So as no fault of the hotels - nothing to complain about - very pleasant stay. Noisy outside early in the morning when having the window opened.en-suite a bit tight for room. The breakfast is poor, no fruit, no plumbs, no soya milk, no cheese.Plumbing. slightly shabby interior, bathroom could do with a spring clean and general tidy up.Although it was advertised as being 5 star it didn't come up to expectation. It lacked that 'special' touch to make it 5 star. i was surprised it was rated as 5*/diamonds. It claimed to have five stars- this was nonsense. It was a cheap guest house with 70s decor which in no way offers facilities which could be described as five star. The price was reasonable but the hotel's description is misleading and anyone expecting a treat will not get it. First stay on the English riviera and I would not recommend it.

Travelling information

By Car:
- On reaching Torquay, head for the sea front.
- As you come into Torquay, you will pass an industrial estate on your left, and go past a turning to Sainsbury's, then, as you come to the next set of lights, you will see McDonalds and Devere Motor Company. Stay in the left hand lane and continue along this main road.
- When you come to Torre Station a few hundred yards from McDonalds, move over into the right-hand lane and follow the signs for the sea front.
- Once you have reached the sea front (stay in the left-hand lane), turn left onto the main sea front road.
- At the next set of lights, turn left (you will see the Belgrave Hotel on the corner).
- This is now Belgrave Road.
- Go to the next set of lights and you will find the house on the left-hand side.
