Our birthday surprise for Dad went down really well. I booked the suite with balcony as we had a travel cot to give maximum space which it did. The hotel which does allow dogs had immaculate bedroom, bathroom and sitting room facilties including a spa bath which was a lovely surprise. The food as we had breakfast was one of the best we have had and evening meal was fantastic and brought fresh that afternoon after ordering at breakfast. All staff had a lovely sense of humour, the welcome genuine and friendly and the location was wonderful; woodland and direct access to the beach We ate in the bar every night the food and the atmosphere was great, we will definitely be going back. We stayed at Cwmwennol House recently and can honestly say we would book into this hotel again. We received a warm welcome from the friendly and helpful owners. Just a five minute walk to a secluded little beach too. A £3 taxi ride into Saundersfoot opens up your options although you could easily enjoy a drink or two in the beautiful garden and surroundings of the grounds. my wife and i had a wonderful 4 day break at the cwmwennol for our 40th wedding anniversary and we loved the place, the owners,breakfast,and rooms,where all excellent and i would recommend this place to everyone,what a lovely hidden gem this was,you can even watch the badgers from the bar.everybody made up very welcome,and we would love to go back,. Very good location. You feel in the country but are only 5 mins outside the centre of Saundersfoot town/beach, and 4 miles from Tenby. Very friendly owners and although we didn't have dinner in the hotel the breakfasts were superb. This hotel provides excellent value for money and we will certainly return. The friendly,helpful owners.The very enjoyable and friendly atmosphere created by Roy and Vicki and other guests - particularly in the lounge bar!The bed was very comfortable.It's a dog friendly hotel and the visiting badgers are delightful.The breakfast was excellent as was our evening meals in the bar. As we saw no other guests we were very glad to be drawn into the family and their visitors, all of whom had interesting tales to tell. We enjoyed the meals, the log fire and the badgers that came to feed on kitchen scraps.The geology of the cliffs on that part of the coast was amazing. It was an Iron Man weekend. Some of the guests had a 05:00 departure time for the event. The hotelier put on a great breakfast at 04:30 to ensure we were all fed. Amazing service and thank you. Also, room with the balcony was fantastic with four poster, jacuzzi and excellent views. The hotel has a lovely woodland setting but is within a 5 minute walk of the beach. I chose it firstly because it was dog friendly and it was perfect for dog walking and the coastal path was on the doorstep. Breakfast was wonderful and the bar had a nice atmosphere. We travelled with our dog, and had a nice room which was clean and comfortable. Meals were excellent, with our dog being allowed in the bar (but not the restaurant which is understandable) Enjoyed watching the badgers and foxes in the garden in the evening. Staff were friendly and efficient. The room was bright, clean and warm. Bed was comfortable. The view from the window was to the woodland - very tranquil and beautiful. Food was very good. The whole experience was good value for money. The owners (Vicki & Roy) made us feel very welcome. It was a very peaceful and lovely location. We really enjoyed watching the badgers come into the garden to feed whilst we sat in the bar enjoying our drinks after a lovely meal. Stayed for overnight stop on way back to Norfolk from Ireland. very good hosts, good evening meal and breakfast, from the bar we saw badgers and also a fox. room clean and comfortable would stay again. 10 out of 10. Roy and Vicki who owned the hotel were probably the nicest most interesting hotel owners we had ever met. The food was home cooked and very good. A quiet situation in a wooded area. walk down to the beach & along to Saundersfoot when the tide is out. Watched the badgers in the evening. The guesthouse is run by a couple who were there when we arrived & provided us with all we needed for a very enjoyable stay. the food was excellent,as was the service we received, the 2 nights in the bar had a good atmosphere due to our hosts. The main hotel areas such as the stairs and the bar area we some what hairy which may put some people off, however the important areas were spotless!!. nothing,everything was great,you cant fail to like this place . Nothing at all to dislike about this hotel. Nothing. Our room was smaller than our bedroom at home. The room fittings were perfectly serviceable but a little outdated. We like dogs, and there were a few here during our stay, and although all were well behaved, if you don't like dogs, it may not be the place for you. When we arrived we were not very impressed with the outside appearance of the hotel. In fact we thought we had made a mistake and arrived at someone's house. Nothing. The only thing that I didn't like was the slow shower. Our room was rather small but that is because we picked a small double. Next time we will request something larger. However, the room was more than adequate for our needs. The bath only had a handheld shower piece & not a proper shower so it could have been better but due to a low ceiling I understand this was properly difficult to install. There was an extra charge added at the end for our dog (despite no mess/damage having been made) - would have been better if the hotel had clarified the exact cost on checking in/booking. Not much to dislike. My only comment would be the creaky floors but that's not a real complaint. The room looked tired after a season could do with a bit of maintenance and deep clean. Nothing at all. Steep bank up from Saundersfoot when tide is in. The full English breakfast wasn't greasy enough! (^j^) can't believe I've just typed that... decor in our rooms was a bit tired. The bed was smaller that what we are used to - I wasn't sure if any of the rooms had King size beds. Also the walls are very thin, we coud here people use the bathroom next door in the middle of the night!. nothing. It is a dog friendly hotel so if thats not your thing then Cwmwennol is not for you. nothing. the biting wind on easter monday. shower in room 6 needs a faster shower head. Having to go home. The en suite bathroom was very small indeed also the bedroom was also small for a country hotel. The price a little high for the location and out of high season. Rather difficult to find in the rain. nothing. too steep down to beach and nothing close unless you want to keep jumping in the car to go off somewhere. Room with sea view, you could just about see the sea looking through the trees. Would have preferred a sea view, but it was a last minute booking. We found trying to find somewhere to eat in Tenby after 9 pm very difficult. All pubs/hotels finish at 9pm or even earlier! Only two restaurants in the high street were open, Bay Tree & Qube. Bizarre, for a tourist town!. Nothing I didn't like. The hotel needs updating. Furniture was broken and although the bed linen and towels were clean the whole place needed a real good scrub! Having said that, I would return for a very short stay!. The very bumpy drive through the woodland in our little car!. Insufficient hot water for a bath. Very poor showers-(need to be electric) Tired mattresses Tired decor in rooms Room cleaning missed on one occasion. Having to hold a shower attachment - very 19th century. My Sister and I found the Hosts general appearance to be scruffy, bare footed. Not very friendly. because of first impressions we did not want to eat breakfast at Cwmwennol.
