Situated on the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast, Merlewood Hotel is a 10-minute walk from Saundersfoot Harbour. With impressive sea views and free parking, there is also a swimming pool and restaurant. The traditional rooms at the Merlewood have en suite bathrooms and tea and coffee facilities. All rooms also have a TV and hairdryer, and some have magnificent sea views. Free Wi-Fi is also available in public areas. The restaurant at Merlewood serves popular bar meals and snacks, and the well-stocked bar offers a selection of beverages. The bar features a table tennis and a small terrace with outdoor seating. Free outdoor pool table is available on request. There is also a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, open from mid-May to mid-September. Close to the Pembrokeshire National Parks Costal Path, which runs for 186 miles, Merlewood is surrounded by beautiful countryside and walking tracks. The sandy beaches of Saundersfoot are just 5 minutes’ walk away, and Saundersfoot town centre is a 10-minute walk.

We found the hotel to be very welcoming, clean and our room was very spacious and comfortable. Although we did not use the pool it looked very clean with a nice balcony area with lovely views over the bay. Breakfast was ok served by very friendly staff. Location is very close to beach and all of the towns shops etc. Bar area was spacious with a good selection of drinks on offer. All in all a very enjoyable stay at the Merlewood which we will return to again.

Breakfast was ample and fresh and catered for all needs by a team of young but welcoming waitresses. Very clean bathroom and room with comfortable beds and pillows.Room had all we wanted - TV,tea and coffee-making facilities,hairdrier and a good light for reading and a large wardrobe and plenty of drawers.Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfasts.Good base for touring S. Pembs. Well received by Russell at check in desk.Very helpfull staff. Family room spacious and spotlessly clean as were all public areas. Fantastic location, just short walk from the beach.Heated pool a fantastic bonus. The room was very clean and comfortable,Staff very helpful and friendly,breakfast was a super start to the day. Some of the furniture and décor could do with updating but this does not detract to much from the overall clean friendly Hotel. having to leave!!. Hill from the beach could be difficult for the elderly or people with mobility problems. Nothing. Decor was a little outdated and furniture quite worn (but that's all). We were there during the July 2013 heatwave so didn't spend too much time in the hotel. Nothing I didn't like just would have been nice to have a small play area for children. There was nothing to dislike,. Only one suggestion, maybe would have been nice to have a fridge in the room. Wasnt heated swimming pool just heated by the sun as advised by the hotel which was a bit disappointing as the water was freezing even though very sunny weekend. Nothing. Can't think of anything. The only complaint I could find was the quality of the toilet rolls could have been better. Nothing. Bit of a climb up the road to the hotel the menu was a bit limited but, having said that, the food provided was very good. nothing. nothing. Although the quality of food was very good, on each of the days we were there the coffee and the cooked breakfast was always cold. Food was cooked in advance of breakfast time in particular the sausages were hard and cold. Only cold plates were available to put food on. compact bedroom new window needed as double glazing panel failed. The fact that there was a function on the one evening we stayed and they did not put on any evening food for any other guests. Every was fine no complain. n/a. Hotel looks nicer on website than In reality . Very dated but clean . Hard beds, but general in most hotels. Noisey in the bedroom in the morning as directly above breakfast room. Mattress. Spring type. Probably O.K. for most but I do have a back problem. My problem, Not their fault. Stairs. I'm getting old. There is no air con, part from that everything is fine. Having to walk up and down a steep hill!. Dreadful night sleep as the room was above the kitchen/dining room, tables and chairs were being dragged from the early hours and then the boiler started erupting every time someone turned on a tap. It was a nightmare, when I told the receptionist she wasn't even sympathetic and said it was a new system and there was probably air in the pipes. I wasn't very amused after 3hours sleep. our room was not clean very well .the louvers doors on wardrobe were very dusty and towels looked old. It's a very tired hotel in desperate need of updating and bringing it into this century. Beds uncomfortable and furniture scruffy. The room carpet wasn't vacuumed during the length of our stay (5 days). Management systems poor. Poorly trained staff, although they did try hard. Wasn't easy to tell who were staff and who were not. Decor very tired. Seats in Bar area need replacing urgently. Dated, cost is a bit steep for such a old style hotel.
