The hotel is very well situared, easy walking distance of the amenities etc, The rooms were a good size although we did find them too hot, we never had the heating on and had the window open at all times; this is not a criticism as I am sure other guests wouldnt complain. It would have been nice to have had control over the temperature, All the staff were proffesional but not officious. I travel to St Hellier quite reguarly and this was my first time at the Mayfair. For value for money and location it is the best hotel I have found.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Whilst at the hotel it was our silver wedding anniversary and staff/management left a card and a bottle of chilled bubbly in our room to wish us congratulations on our special day. This was a thoughtful gesture. within walking distance of town centre. The whole experience was enjoyable. Comfort and food. Room and its furnishing. Bathroomand its cleanliness .The Hotel in general and in particular the room was very clean. The Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was very good, especially the breakfast which was just the right amount and served very quickly indeed. We made use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room, which again we thought was very clean and well organised. The location of the Hotel is convenient for the Town. The staff are very friendly efficient and helpful. The main parts of the hotel are smart and comfortable. The rooms are possibly in need of some refurbishment but were very clean. The hotel is very convienient for the town centre.The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, and even though we were not with a group, we were able to go on any of the tours that had been organized by the hotel for them. fbulous clean and tidy rooms. excellent value for money. been in worse 5 star hotels!!. locaion....easy walking access to places I had to vsit. For a town hotel it was pretty central and I was able to find my wayaaround very easily. It was also very relaxing to stay there - no noisefrom guests returning late to their rooms - very important. It isn't a dislike but I felt the health centre did not offer the same standard as the hotel. It has good facilities but I did expect more after seeing the rooms etc. I would have liked the opportunity to hire a barh robe for use around the pool as well as in the bedroom.. The jacuzzi was not big enough for 5 adults at one time. The gym was very well equipped. The towels were on the small... Breakfast, it was not full english as it was previoulsy. The restaurant was very warm and several guests asked for the air conditioning to be turned on. The bedrooms were also very warm. I don't think there was any air con in the bedrooms but maybe this is something they could look at. A lot of guests had asked for fans. TV remote control. Its location. A long walk to sea front. The entertainment - this was geared more towards older holidaymakers, but they were very much in the majority so this is understandable. We would have liked to have seen a live band playing more modern music. Our only other, minor, crticism was the lack of private changing facilities for the swimming pool.the menu for the set meal could do with a little attention and service was far to quick.....was my meal just sat there waiting for me to come in! would of loved to have the time to try the a la carte menu. no fresh fruit at breakfast!....... this is something I usually eat a lot of. However, there was plenty of other food.quality and selection of food could be better. The meals were basic and generally cold. Diningroom was cramped. Too many tiny tables pushed together. Being on my own I felt awkward and did not use the diningroom after the first two days. check out at 10am too early. Small portions for breakfast. Room was very poorly ventilated and too hot. Dining room very"regimented" and crowded. Poor bar service. The beds!!!!! not comfortable the pillows were fine but the mattress was very firm and I did not sleep very well which blighted my stay.. Most staff had a very unhelpful attitude to the point of laziness.very impersonal; rooms airless;.
