The menus change daily to reflect the finest, freshest ingredients available locally. The restaurant offers regional specialities and classic dishes, including traditional favourites, with a bit of a twist. Wherever possible, the restaurant uses regional produce, simply prepared with lots of local and regional influence.

The Martindale Cafe and Terrace Lounge offers 2 different areas and one great all-day menu. The cafe offers speciality teas, freshly brewed coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice, as well as home-made cakes and pastries, light meals and traditional supper dishes. The cafe has a stylish interior and a relaxed atmosphere. The comprehensive wine list offers a selection of wines from around the world to complement your meal, including a specially selected Wine of the Season. Move on to the Terrace Lounge for more relaxation, with comfortable sofas and views across the hills. The lounge is the ideal place to catch up on the day's news or just enjoy the peace and quiet.

The Stag Bar offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including a range of wine and real ales, brewed in Blackburn by Daniel Thwaites.

Room service is available 24 hours a day.

Children's meals are available, but in order to preserve a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all guests the hotel asks that families with children aged less than 12 years dine in the restaurant prior to 20:00.

Children can either choose a meal from the children's Trekkers menu or they can order half portions from the à la carte menu and pay half price.

Please note, the hotel will charge a preauthorisation of GBP 1 for all bookings on cards. Full payment will be taken for advance purchase or non-refundable bookings. If a Bed & Breakfast rate is selected - breakfast for adults is included in the room price. Childrens breakfasts are charged at the hotel - GBP 4 per child per day for children between 2 - 7 years and GBP 7.50 per child per day, for children aged 8 - 16 years old. Children swim times apply and children are only permitted to use the swimming pool from: Monday - Thursday - 08:00 - 11:00, 15:00 - 18:30 Friday - 08:00 - 11:00, 15:00 - 19:30. Children are welcome to use the pool any time on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. Please note that children can only be accommodated in the Family Rooms. Please note, the gymnasium will be closed for refurbishment from 26 March 2018 until 7 April 2018. All other facilities in the spa are open as normal. The property will be going through renovation works from Mon 08 Jan 2018 until Fri 23 Mar 2018. During this period, guests may experience some noise or light disturbances, and some hotel facilities and services may not be available.

The hotel is located just off the M6 at junction 40. We are a ten minute drive away from the glorious mountains of the lake district and a landscape that changes with every turn in the road.

Leave the M6 at junction 40 and follow the A592 into Penrith, proceed to the mini roundabout and turn back on yourself. Take the first left turn on to Clifford Road and an immediate right on to the hotel car park.
Leave the train station and turn right along the main road. Follow until you arrive at a roundabout (aproximately a 10 minute walk), cross over the mini roundabout and take the left on to Clifford Road.
