What people say
Location, 10 minute walk into town. Helpful and knowledgeable, Paul
knows the area and has colleagues who can provide outdoor activities etc
if required.
There is an excellent Italian resteraunt which has a steak night on a Wednesday which was recommended by Paul.
Paul the owner is a very easy going and helpful person. The breakfast is a choice of fruit juices, cereal, and a full English if required.
My room was on the top floor with an ensuite. room had tea and coffee facilities. Downstairs . all reviews »
I came to Penrith for a last minute festival participation and found Norcroft through this site. It is much better value than similar establishments, great breakfasts are made to order each morning and owner Paul bends over backwards to accommodate, he is truly a class act. (He will drive you wherever you need to go if he is available and at a much better rate than the local taxis.)
The place is just off the downtown core and is spotless with nice modern bathrooms. I truly lucked out with this .
As a group we were made to feel very welcome by Paul and his staff.
Even though we had to leave for a charity challenge at 5.30 am, he made sure we had coffee, toast and cereal before we left, even though it was outwith his normal breakfast times.
Loved the full breakfast on the 2nd day.
Value for money. Clean and comfortable rooms.
Great TV room.
We left a shirt in the room and Paul contacted me and them arranged to post it back to us. Really impressed.
A great overall experience. Much appreci.
Outstanding support, information and service from Landlord Paul.(it was
my first sole journey as an elderly woman.) Facilities and bed comfort
were ideal. No background or traffic noises. Individual food preferences
provided. Transport to and from the station and also out to the Dalemain
Marmalade Festival - the purpose of my visit. Much appreciated.
I rang last minute and was welcomed by paul. He was helpful in everyway
possible and even gave us a lift to the wedding we were attending for a
good price. The breakfast was amazing and the choice was vast. The
location was amazing if you are looking for a weekend in penrith centre.
Also close dricing distance to all of penriths attractions.
I was sick when I arrived and the proprietor carried my little bag up to my room and let me be but had clearly told the staff as everyone asked how I was feeling next morning.
Wifi was strong enough to reach top floor which I truly appreciated as often these guesthouses don't offer more than the common area access which is simply laziness.
Traditional b&b. We used this hotel whilst doing the coast to coast on our bikes. It was directly on the route and 5 minutes walk into town. The owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds and good breakfast. All we needed. Also had secure cycle storage.
The helpful proprietor and staff, and the very nice room. The bed was comfortable, everything was provided for my comfort, and the bathroom was beautiful - shining clean. Breakfast was just what I wanted, and arrangements were made for me to get in as I was arriving rather late.
The guesthouse has it's own private parking. Decaff coffee supplied in room and filter decaff at breakfast. Excellent breakfast and lovely staff. Very clean.
Short walk into town centre, where there was lots of choice for meals out.
Good price.
Clean and comfortable friendly staff good breakfast. A short walk into the town centre lots of real ale pubs and plenty of choice to eat. Location was good for exploring the Lakes. Would recommend to family and friends.
Stayed Friday 21st June 2013 on the c2c trip. The hotel is directly on
the route with pubs and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Provided
secure garage for bikes. Breakfast was very good. Hotel was clean
staff friendly.
Warm and helpful greeting on arrival. Comfortable accommodation. Amazing
breakfast, friendly staff who took particular attention of my disabled
son. Welcome pack of refreshments was plenty and of good quality.
The room was warm and comfortable. It was quiet at night, the only noise was an occasional passing car. The breakfast was excellent and you had plenty of time to check out in the morning.
We had a warm welcome and shown to our room which was spotless with a very nice on suite bathroom. There were also plenty of tea and coffee in the room and the breakfast was superb.
Very comfortable, friendly staff. Attention to detail. Everything worked. Very nice ensuite bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Within easy walking distance of town centre.

Friendly superb breakfast!.
Everything about it.
excellent service.
very nice stay.
Nothing.
Not anything.
The only thing I found a little wrong was breakfast orders had to be in
by 8.45. I found this a little early after attending a wedding the night
before, I feel 9.45 would be more suited.
Room was very basic garret niche with flat pillows. But okay for price and adequate for my needs.
I can't think of anything!.
It was sunny and my room was very hot.
Nothing.
Climbing loads of stairs!.
The guesthouse was hard to find after dusk in the evening, when walking.
There was nothing to dislike.
Shower was faulty (but was fixed the day I left, to be fair, they didn't know at first).
One of my pillows a bit hard.
Everything was great.
Other residents coming in late at night having been to the pub and developing alcoholic deafness.
