This is the third time I've had an overnight stay at this hotel in about 6 weeks. It is superb value for money. Very modern/contemporary design - clean and unfussy. Rooms are designed with the younger traveller in mind and are clever with space. I was most impressed by the service at this hotel - friendly, reliable, quick. Good food on the menu (served to the rooms), really excellent room with absolutely nothing to complain about. Staff could not have been more helpful - this was proven furth.
all reviews » I use the Sleeperz hotels quite frequently and the service in the Newcastle Hotel is by far the best service I have ever seen, Hotel staff are superb and really made me feel welcome, even the security gaurd in the evening was very welcoming and friendly. I checkeed in earlier that expected with no additional charge, room was spotless and an excellent view over the centre. Excellent team working in this hotel. I look forward to my next stay in this hotel the first weekend in May. First time we have stayed at Sleeperz and we will definitely be back. The staff are absolutely great, from reception to housekeeping, all are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are bright,modern and the superior room we had was very spacious. Breakfast had an excellent selection at a reasonable price. Long stay parking is only two minutes away and all the shops and restaurants and quayside are within walking distance. This is a great Hotel for a Newcastle city break. Staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. When booking I was asked the reason for stay and I said girlfriends birthday and when we entered our room we found a birthday card from hotel staff that my girlfriend really liked. I was there for nightlife and this hotel is only yards from the bars. Hotel is very modern clean and comfortable. Breakfast is self service that we like because you could help yourself to English breakfast,coffee ,juice etc. A very well thought out design for reasonably priced accommodation. A desk, with 2 chairs, a place for your case, the room felt spacious (we had a Superior Room). Wifi was pretty good. The buffet breakfast was also good. Not far to walk to the Quayside & good choice of places to eat within easy walking distance, although the walk back up the hill can be hard work. Historic area. Central Train Station within easy walk. Clean, modern hotel very good location for the station and city centre. Nice room with A/C and comfey bed. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Bar open until 3.30am which as we didn't arrive until 1.30am was a blessing. Good rates at long stay station car park if you are parking the car for the weekend. Didn't have breakfast, but looked ok. English breakfast was good, a big choice of cereals, fruit, bread, toast and juice; even lactose-free milk was available! Just got back from an amazing weekend in Newcastle and this hotel completely added to the overall experience. The staff are the friendliest staff I've ever encountered and extremely helpful. The hotel is trendy, modern and clean. At night time, there is a security person on the door to ensure you are a resident within the hotel. Really pleased!!. Staff really friendly and welcoming. Being able to store luggage before room is ready. Breakfast was reasonable price although Im glad we only said 7 pound instead of 9 as it wasn't really friendly worth 9 pound. Room clean bed comfy, shower was really good powerful. Even though the train track was outside you didn't really here the trains. The rooms were very clean and beds very comfortable. Clean modern decor, helpful friendly staff and the location is excellent, a 3 minute walk from central station, the quayside and close to the city centre facilities. In spite of the fact that there were 2 hen nights on the Saturday, my room was very quiet. Quick, friendly and efficient check in & out, handy bar. We had a room on the 5th floor with views of the Tyne bridge so would recommend requesting a room on that floor if you want sunlight and a view. We liked the location for the shops and pubs we went to on our stay in newcastle. we liked it that much we are coming back in august again and booking at the Sleeperz hotel. Second night visit I was bothered only a tiny bit by some noise coming from the nearby Tokyo nightclub but it wasn't that bad and finished at 1am. Staff were very apologetic - this might have miffed off the lighter sleeper but I dealt with it. I enjoyed everything about the stay, I havent got a bad word to say about this hotel or the staff. The en-suite bathroom is a wet room which is good and shower nice and hot, but the door for bathroom is a sliding frosted glass panel door that does not give enough privacy. There is no car park but train station car park is behind hotel and costs £15 for 24 hours, but check if Newcastle are playing football at home as away fans are put in this car park by police before going up to the stadium. Nothing to complain about. Can be noisy as many younger people staying for the weekend, but I guess you get that with any budget city hotel. Station car park closes at midnight. Nothing!. Plastic water glass in the bathroom. No biscuits with the tea and coffee. Parking difficult - there is on street parking for an hour a time. Nearest car park is Central station just round the corner but think it's £15 a day there. Could not fault anything, have stayed in many hotels in Newcastle and this was one of the best and the by far the best in the budget price range. That we couldn't stay longer!!! There's really nothing I can fault. Have nothing negative to say about our stay. Nothing to complain about!. Bed could have been softer but that's a personal taste. Unfortunately I had a very poor nights sleep as the air con unit in my room rattled quite loudly sporadically, even when switched off. I found a completed feedback form left in the room from a previous guest several days previously who had said the same thing- please sort it out! This is why I have not given more excellent ratings in the previous questions; otherwise this was my ideal hotel. Door key card didnt always work had to go back to reception and get them to sort it (not good when your feet ache beyond belief) would like to see more menu choice for dinner!. We did not have anything that could be really called a window in the room. It was a bit pricey for what you get. there was nothing we didn't like!. Not enough hangers in room or storage. The design of the bathroom as a wet room meant the whole floor got extremely wet. We had to put the bath towels down to stop water going into the bedroom. The floor in the shower part should slope towards the drain. The safe did not work, we reported the error code twice to reception staff but it did not get fixed. Room could do with a little more space for storing clothes. Not sure the frosted glass door between bathroom and bedroom gives the total privacy some travellers would want, though fine for a couple. Wifi didn't work in lobby area but was good in the bedroom. I think it's safe to say that cleaning service was poor. The sheets weren't changed on time. Out of 5 times, they were changed 2 max, if not one, during my stay. Room was compact, but manageable for a short staff. Not much space for clothes, but manageable if u organise your belongings into the space provided. Only air conditioning, could not open window for fresh air. Design of shower screen (should be a little bit wider to avoid whole room getting wet), breakfast did not include all items as advertised (no grilled tomato or mushrooms), not clear if alternative vedgetarian option available. The rest room is quiet small the tea material was placed on table not cleaned properly and having marks on it. Nothing. The room is not equipped by refrigerator. Nothing particularly, minor point that proximity to station means trains can be heard as a distant braking buzz but after falling asleep none were heard. My heater was blowing cold. I should have asked a member of staff to re-set it. There wasn't anything we could find to complain about. No warm water in the morning when taking a shower. Firealarm sounded various times during our stay due to technical issue (without communication / apologies about what happened). The hotel has a policy of not allowing guests which caused a lot of friction and a horrible atmosphere in the bar as there were rows and police involved. Whereas it did not affect us I could sympathise with the recepients as if there is a policy it needs to be clearly advisedand advertised to people as we are paying by the room and not by the individiuaL. Nothing!. The hotel has had messages in its rooms saying that the bedside tables will be replace in the 'next few weeks' for months now. Minor thing but spoils the premium look of otherwise really nice rooms. The set up of the breakfast : 1 square meter where all drinks are lined up hidden behind a pillar blocking access and 8 people try to get to one slow coffee machine. There is enough choice but the quality of the breakfast could be improved a bit. Your Newcastle hotel seems very 'shiny and new', I stayed in your Cardiff hotel and it had started to feel a bit more grubby and 'used'- so beware compromising on maintaining high standard, which is tough to achieve with very competitive prices. Nothing. thought the room was going to be a bit more spacious but once we were in for a while you get used to it.
