Loved the building, felt like a little something special with the windmill. Breakfast was great and both restaurant staff and hotel staff were friendly and very efficient. If in that area I will def stay there again. Large bedroom with good equipment. Very quiet. Staff extremely nice and helpful. Good breakfast. Nice location by the lake, convenient with the restaurant. Car recommended. I recommend this hotel.
all reviews » Nothing wrong with hotel, but letsbookhotel.com had not told Premier Inn that I had booked my children as well as myself - so had to sort out additional bedding on arrival. Better to book direct. The location was fantastic and very child friendly. Grace was our receptionist and she couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The rooms were comfy and perfect for what we needed. Location was superb --- your staff were very helpful especially Andrew on the reception at the Mill Caldiccot Lake Milton Keynes. Thank you for making our stay top notch. We liked the location. A beautiful setting by the lake. Very convenient because we were visiting Bletchley Park. both receptionists were very helpful and booked our taxi. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. They copied really well with evacuating the hotel when the fire alarm went off brought out duvets so guests didn't get cold. The receptionist Grace excellent member of staff friendly, approachable & helpful. Coped well with false fire alarm. The room was a good size, the bed very comfy and the staff were very helpful. Breakfasts were good as well. very pretty location on a small lake - on out skirts of town - a very pleasant stay - comfortable bed. Clean Room Very good to stay for the weekend Very nice locality for cycling walking and sightseeing. The breakfast was very disappointing we were told to help ourselves to continental but hd to ask for juice,glasses, plates and bread. It took 30mins to order hot food and another 30 mins to arrive, bored children and adults. We are late for our day out. There were only two staff serving the whole restaurant. They did their best and were apologetic. We did receive a refund. Restaurant next door was a bit disappointing -we have stayed in several premium inns and always value the convenience of having somewhere reasonably priced to eat in next door. Breakfast was good not the best I have had a in other partnership chains but the rest of the menu was poor, however it was fairly busy so I presume it was popular locally. Leaky toilet in Room 6, only noticed day we left . The decor is a bit dated but I wouldn't hold it against the hotel and the bathroom fan was a bit noisy. I came back to my room one day at 1.45pm and it hadn't been cleaned so I had to go without that day. This is not the end of the world but I was suprised as this is not a big hotel and I had been out of my room since before 9am/. Not The Cleanest Restaurant Missed chiller in the room Very slow internet Not the best for stay longer than one weekend Car is a must otherwise it is problem to get somewhere out. Dinner at Fayre and Square was a major disappointment for service and quality of food. I only have one small gripe, the bath and sink plug holes could have done with some bleach or Mr Muscle plug hole cleaner! Both looked a bit grimy and the bath was slow to empty. net curtains in room were awful . fayre and square restaurant next door was a bit grubby and evening meal was of low standard . cost of breakfast too high. old type of keys. Wifi was problematic Proximity with the City Center was not good, too far. Difficulty with online booking with letsbookhotel.com [unusual] compounded by the american woman whose customer service consisted of following a script instead of listening to what the problem was. Breakfasts could be extended a little longer. 9AM is a bit early when you're on holiday. Cadecotte Arms VERY draughty! Food excellent, though. Hard bed. The sort of dinner food was not what we are used to. No other restaurent apparantly within easy reach. Breakfast was OK thought. Do not eat there. Food is cheap tastless badly presented uncooked and lets the Hotel down very badly. Someone in higher management LaLa Land needs to have a meal at two for ten pounds to understand the meaning of inverse marketing. Sell rooms Whitbread but get out of low budget catering!. Very small telly. The restaurant had dirty sticky tables even after cleaning and was full of scutters. Not in keeping with the hotel. A charge of £3 per device for wifi access In the room. Having to spend an extra £20 on taxi`s with the receptionist at the Milton Keynes central hotel telling me I was staying at Furzton Lake and when I arrived there was told I was not booked there, so then had to taxi to Caldicott hotel. Not happy. over priced for that weekend. N/a. No lift. The bathroom had mould. The restaurant (Fayre & Square) has a standard of food which is below that of a Harvester/Brewers Fayre chain pub. At breakfast was good quality but there were only 2 people serving on a busy bank holiday (morning of the MK Marathon). The staff were great and did their best but couldn't keep up with the needs of everyone. There was a lack of cups glasses bowls and spoons. This is very basic stuff for a breakfast service. The television in our room was not working and the tea/coffee making equipment was - no coffee/one teabag and two sachets of sugar - not very good!!. Old box TV had a bad signal. Smoky smell to the room. Unsettled, uncomfortable nights sleep. Mattress caused us to have knots and aches in our backs. Family room should supply a mini fridge. TV small Breakfast in adjoining restaurant was foul. Room 1 next to stairs was noisy as no lift lift to other floors. Hotel seemed dated, use of traditional metal key to enter room as opposed to plastic card wasn't cool. Toilet wasn't sparkling white as should be and bathroom/toilet in general was dated and required modernisation, flooring was awful, a wall tile or two were cracked even. Being greeted by chunky grey portable outdated TV instantly killed the mood having entered the room using an outdated metal key. Finally pillows did not allow a good nights sleep. restaurant attached had a slow service with limited selections of food. the set up of the inn next door. it took too long to order food and if you just wanted a drink you had to join the queue for the food again. there should be a separate queue if you are just buying a drink. The pub attached to it was awful. This means any services that rely on the pub - such as breakfast were complete rubbish. Restaurant closed in morning - no breakfast . No provision made for us - difficult as we had no car and were running a marathon - waiting for refund. Beds were very uncomfortable and the "Family Room" was just a standard room with two single beds put in. The bathroom was not as clean as it could have been. room cleaning. Stained toilet bowl and sink plug hole. Only 1 vending machine which was broken and no one had bothered to put a sign on it. A measly 2 tea bags for a 24hr stay. Only 2 towels provided. A television from back in the day! Queues to order a drink from the bar which took ages because most people were ordering food too!. Was not happy with the clean ness off the room smelt nasty carpet was stained and very dusty. Worst premier inn I have ever stayed in. It was dirty. Mould in the bathroom, toilet coming off the wall, bed springs and fan in the bathroom went on forever. Staff were very apologetic but I am still waiting for a refund.
