The room was a good size and what appeared to be in a new part of the hotel . It was good to have all the facilities available when we arrived at lunch time we were able to have something to eat at the Half Way House and in the evening there was a choice of eating. beautiful surroundings, polite and friendly staff, good facilities, and excellent value. My husband is the hitel industry and even he was impressed.

Our stay was what you hope all hotels should provide Good staff good food and a great clean comfortable room that was not noisy. The staff were brilliant they could not have been more helpful, the rooms and the food was also very good. We think this is hotel offers everything for a great stay. Thats why wealways use it. Recently upgraded and rightly proud of it.Excellant room and restaurant. facilities value service could not have been bettered. a building with history set in a peaceful setting with contemporary, comfortable and very clean rooms. Location, staff, food and comfort - very good value for money. Would certainly use again. Excellent restaurant and leisure facilities. Hotel has recently been refurbished. Excellent leisure facilities, jacuzzi and steam/sauna were top notch.The scenery and the decor in the room was very nice and like new. No we travel north twice a year and we will be booking again outbound and return. No, although they could do with some outdoor seating. The food could have been better.....the hot water was not hot but too cool for showers. Unable to get a drink on our return around midnight.Directions are vague. Bathroom fan was filthy and noisey, shower had seen better days as well. windows were dirty inside and out. Also people using mobile phones in the dining areas is awfull, a notice to ban as other places do would be good.Restaurant was full, bar food only average but realistically priced. Tap water not hot enough. Bath tub too shallow. Our room overall was very good, the living area had obviously been refurbished very recently as was clean and fresh, however the bathroom was old and tired with a leaking shower screen and dated fittings.Bathroom could have been cleaner, fan was particularly grubby. Didn't give enough toilet roll so we ran out! Only had one roll. Rooms were very hot, even with the radiator turned off. food was very expensive in restaurant and surroundings in there were like being in a small function room, not what i expected. Pork loin was nothing special at all and would have got food from bar if we had known. For a 4* hotel, i expected more.
