As a female solo traveller I felt very safe at this hotel which was important to me. I arrived at Wimbledon station and the hotel was very easy to find from there and only a few minutes walk. The lady on reception was very good and informative and even carried my case to my room which was ready even though I had arrived before the official check in time. My room was a small single with a shared bathroom - I knew this when I booked. The bathroom was only shared with the staff and so this was no.
all reviews » The hotel was so convenient for the centre of Wimbledon. I was able to walk to the hotel from the station, so no bother with taxis or buses. My room, although quite small, was comfortable with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, combined with the coffee making facilities and a tv I had all I needed for my stay. The breakfast was charged as an extra but it was well worth it. There was a choice of cereal and juices, tea or coffee, toast and any or all of egg, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and baked. Room and en-suite were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly, polite and extremely helpful from advising us where to eat to booking taxis to the All England Club and to Euston on the day we left.The Manager was really helpful and very considerate after we had checked out and waiting for transport. Great location for the tennis, just a short walk up the hill to Wimbledon village which was just what we needed for this visit. There's also free parking which is a bonus. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that but would recommend as accommodation for the tennis. Plus the owner kindly prints off the order of play each day!. A very nice small hotel, five minutes walk from Wimbledon station, comfortable and quiet room with a new en-suite, the dining area was very well organised and although the breakfast was small it was good value for for money at only 5 pound. We weren't happy with our room as booked a double room and when we arrived were put in a twin room. The room was on the top floor and didn't have a proper shower, you had to sit in the bath to use it. For non business travellers the breakfast ended a little early at 8.45 but this was not a big issue. No complaints. Some may want a hotel nearer to city, took about 40 mins to get to Picadilly on underground, but out of congestion zone and had car park so that balanced it for us. Nothing.. N/A. We were warned the day before that the shower wasn't working in our room which was annoying, although they did call us up to tell us in advance, knocked off 20% of the price, and we were able to use the communal shower instead so it wasn't that bad!. Room was a bit warm but a fan was provided even though we didn't find it until the morning. Plughole of basin was blocked and took 2 days to sort out. When it was finally sorted I don't think anybody came to check the work as we found muddy footsteps allover the bathroom floor. Noise from closing doors of nearby rooms in the early hours. Nothing. The room was a bit small. Shower ground to a halt at one point. nothing specific. Noisy guests at night. I guess hotel can't do much about it. Breakfast finishing at 08:45 is earlier than I've ever had (and I use about 30 hotels per year for the last 20 years). For central London the distance is too long. Had nothing to complain about. Small bathroom. Nothing. Bedroom at front of hotel was noisy due to busy road. Cramped reception desk. Some road noise. The sausages at breakfast were a bit ""tired"- didn't even know about the treatment room.
