Brasserie Forty 4 is on the same site as the hotel and offers informal dining in a 2 AA rosette winning restaurant. Breakfast features an extensive 'sausage menu', celebrating local farmers produce, homemade jams and marmalades, and traditional Whitby kippers. Leeds Rail Station is just a 10-minute walk away and Leeds Bradford International Airport is a 25-minute drive from the hotel. The Yorkshire Dales is just 20 miles away, and Headingley Cricket Ground can be reached in 10 minutes by car.

The individuality of the rooms and breakfast was fantastic. The room was amazingly quiet and the bed was to die for, if I could have packed the bed in my case I would. I am still dreaming of it... Until next time and there will be a next time! Thank you. The room and attention to smaller details was superb, far surpassed many five star hotels I have previously stayed in.Room was unusual and well presented, staff very helpful - valet parking an unexpected bonus.

It was a shame that the queen bed was two conjoined single matresses - the central seam did rather mar a romantic break away!. Perhaps the breakfasts could be extended to 1000, as on a leisure break the need to rush for 0930 was unnecessary. quality of raw materials at breakfast could be better. noise in the corridor during the night, we must have been next to a staff entrance...!. bit noisy at times from outside noise. Hot and stuffy, could have benefitted from air con. Not having air conditioning wold have been an issue had we being staying more than one night and if(?) the weather had stayed hot. Little bit more eye contact from the staff ( reception ) but I am being a bit picky reception staff uniform didn't fit again just trying to help. room service states 21 hour, we called within the time frame and nothing was available!. In my view, it was rather overheated and the breakfasts were enormous -I asked for 2 eggs (menu siad 3) and bacon - I got 3 eggs and loads ofbacon. All very good, but just too much!. room would have been a bit small for a longer stay. the noise outside. The Fire Alarm going off at 2.40am and no one on the staff having a clue what to do. Room layout and television facilities. Internet access was not free and quite expensive for the business user. This hotal was great but one aspect let them down - the pillows were hard lumps of foam (or felt like it!) At these prices they really should invest in feather pillows.The location on a Saturday night was noisy to say the least!!! Earplugs definitely needed for a good nights sleep. Sorry but that spoiled things for a couple of 40 somethings!. Balancing wine glass on arrival to room Also thought it was BandB and wasnt Should be warning ROOM ONLY Plus very noisy guests arrived 3am and no one tried to quiet them. I thought it had the atmosphere of a library. Everything had to be just so and even worried about turning the pages of my paper over at breakfast in case I got complaints from other guests and the staff. The fact there was not even a small bar or somewhere to relax with a coffee was a bit disappointing. The help yourself arrangement is not the same thing. Sorry the survey won't let me add more. They said that the rooms were equipped with dvd players but these wereonly available to play their films at their, premium, costs, not to viewour own DVDs.see above. In desperate need of refurbishment - threadbare carpets, peeling paintwork etc.
