Salisbury House B & B - Photos
What people say
This is a phenomenal B&B!! My wife & I (both early 30s) spent 4
days in Dover, and 3 nights at Salisbury House. This B&B was
perfect!! Its location at the foot of the castle hill could not have
been more suitable. Also a lovely walk to the Cliffs Walk. The owners of
Salisbury House, Thomas & Linda, are wonderfully fun people, very
welcoming, and took damn good care of us. That was the best full-English
we've had in ages, and the most perfect start to the day (not the
least becau. all reviews »
Service was excellent, was met at the door just before checkin closed and taken straight to my room. The room was perfect and a very good size with a large bathroom. Breakfast was very prompt and the service was spot on. Can't recommend this place enough, I used it as a stopver on the way back from france but I would happily come back, just for the bedroom is enough.
Well situated, handy for the ferries, welcoming, clean, food fine, all amenities, fussy, clu stered, could do with the "hotel inspector". Morrisons and Asdai nearby, Petrol on the A2. The pub "Louis Armstrong" offers a very decent meal, very reasonably on Wednesday nights only.
The owner of Salisbury House, Thomas, is a fantastic warm person with a great sense of humour.
It was a lovely old house with a really nice garden.
After a few days it felt like coming home.
The owners are just fantastic , nice, helpful and that charming that they make you whish to be adopted by them. The room was huge, lovely and rustic, a perfect breakfast, and well located.
We liked a true Victorian House.this one was kept in the true tradition with lots and lots of original ornaments , pictures the conservatory was magic and the hospitality was formidable.
Tom and his wife are absolutely superb hosts. Overnight we became part of the family, that's the level of welcome awaiting you. Nothing was too much trouble.
The host was marvellous, very welcoming.
The room was great, eccentric furnishings, which we loved.
We had a very happy overnight stay at this B & B.
The host was very friendly and gave good ideas where to eat.
Breakfast was delicious and was served in a fantastic room.
We really enjoyed our stay!.
Lovely comfortable rooms with a sofa for relaxing, so nice not having to sit on a bed all night. Tom and Linda are great hosts, very good breakfast.
A great place for a one night stopover or as a centre for exploring this extremely interesting part of Kent.
You are certainly made very welcome.
liked the fact that it was close to the town. we could park off road. the owner was very friendly and helpful. the room was comfortable.Very nice family owned Hotel. Also very nice Staff which loves children. We had a perfect stay in the Salisbury House B&B. Thanks a lot. .
We were greeted warmly by Tom and made to feel at home. "Lived in", spacious room with plenty of off street parking.
the hospotality and responses were simply fantastic. the breakfast was excellent with super service with a smile.
All was fine for us. We were visiting family and it was close by. It was quant the breakfasts were great.
The personal welcome and the willingness to look after us and provide for us as and when we needed it.
The owners, Tom and Linda were very friendly and helpful, providing
information about sights to see.
Friendly staff who would go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible
Cute pet cat.
Friendly welcome from owners (and staff) to beautiful, quirky victorian house. Breakfast excellent.
Very friendly host. Linda McCartney vegetarian sausages provided at breakfast for vegetarians.
very nice, friendly owners; good location, comfortable room. very pleasant to stay in.
The place, Thom & linda - the cordial hosts of house and their English Breakfast.
Close to town centre location, the friendly welcome from the owner, great breakfast.
Very friendly hosts, great room with en-suite bathroom and a delicious breakfast.
Very friendly and helpful host, even in the middle of the night ;-).
It was like being in one's own home. I felt very comfortable.
Very friendly owners, excellent food, quite quiet area.
Good location, spacious room, excellent breakfast.
Very friendly people, good british breakfast.

The house is very homely and welcoming.
The friendliness and helpfullness.
Hospitality, breakfast, location.
A friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Like being in a real home.
Really interesting place.
Made to feel welcome.
Very friendly.
The owner was very pleasant and stood out in the road looking for me as
I struggled to find the place in the dark. He provided fresh milk for
hot drinks and as I was leaving before breakfast, provided a wrapped
pain au chocolat and fresh fruit to take with me, a nice touch.
The breakfast room was quite charming as was our host, Tom, when we met
him the morning after we arrived. The breakfast was very good also.
Hosts very pleasant.... nice breakfast.
generally quiet position
acceptable for this one occasion will not stay again - will pay more for more flexible check in time, ensuite room with on site parking.
Tom was very welcoming and he helped with luggage to first floor.put us there instead of top floor. Breakfast was fine.good location.
Good Breakfast
Clean bathroom
Friendly welcome
Close to Dover ferries.
Ummm, Thinking thinking.....
nice guy.
We would not change anything about Salisbury House - B&B owners
should visit this place to learn how to run a warm, welcoming
B&B properly.
Nothing it was perfect.
Our "theater room" was really cozy, but if you like minimalistic interiors and modern design, this B&B will definitely not be your cup of tea. The whole house is filled with memorabilia and bric-à-brac.
The English breakfast was nothing fancy, but we liked it.
Breakfast is served between 7am & 8:15am which is pretty early.
Nothing.
Nothing.
we did not like the coffee it tasted weak.
The bathroom cold tap did not work.
a bit more space in the room to keep things.
Nothing.
It was a bit too cluttered.
Check in timings could be abit more liberal!.
Nothing.
Nothing.
There was nothing to dislike.
our double bed was not comfortable - far too saggy towards the middle.
A little too cluttered for our taste.
Finding it.
Breakfast room untidy.
No parking on site.
No sausage with the cooked breakfast but was pk.
Bedroom was as if the owners daughter had been kicked out for the night
and I moved in. It came complete with all her clutter and soft toys.
Cold tap in the bathroom sink still not working (mentioned in a review
by a previous guest). Needs a good tidy up and a bit of redecoration -
perhaps replacing torn net curtains? The tap water is an acquired taste
and made the tea taste funny. Would I stay here again? -Probably not.
Our room felt like the master bedroom had been turned over to us, rather
than a designated guest room. The room was cluttered and personal things
were covered over. The owners weren't home when we arrived, though
the neighbor who greeted us was quite nice.
Rooms cluttered [looked like the hosts had given up their room for us] ...t.v. no proper aerial.. [unable to get good reception].
Entrance looked a total shambles with cars everywhere( no where to park) - house signs for sale propped up, redundant cars in the way and awkward to get into.
6pm check in - not in this day and age can you accept this as the norm after travelling 330 miles.
bathroom not ensuite - tho private - shower Poor - cant understand that this was acceptable to owners
NO WIFI in room - tried with owner in room on two separate phones but no success.
No parking on site as stated - had to park in road.
The room was shabby ,dirty carpet, torn curtains, family memorabilia everywhere, camp bed set up in room, possibly a family room. Suitcases on top of wardrobes, cold water tap didn't work. Place needs a good tidy up and clean.
Pervading food smells throughout.
Cluttered bedroom
Old bed and bed-sheets
No ensuite - private bathroom across corridor.
Promised private parking not available.
Where do I start....
The 6pm check in (and not before)
Totally weird set-up. No ensuite.
'Stuff' everywhere!
Even in the breakfast room.
We felt like we were being secretly filmed. Totally weird place...Faulty Towers all over.
In the 25 different places we stayed, this was the weirdest.
Cold room , only heated first hours.
not working toilet.
