What people say
We had a very enjoyable experience at The Norman Guesthouse with our 2
older children. The room was spacious and comfortable and the hosts were
incredibly friendly and accommodating with advice on the local area. The
breakfast was the best we have had so far in the uk. We would recommend
this property very highly indeed.
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the owners were very friendly and helpful and accommodating. The Hotel is situated very close to the train station and the city center. It was a perfect location for our 2 day city trip with planned outings in the vicinity. London is also within 2 hours reach by train.all reviews »
The place felt like home from the moment we stepped it. The owners were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were csy and clean, and the full English breakfast was tasty and beautifully served. The guesthouse is next to the train station and so ideal if you don't have a car. Would definitely go back.
A wonderful family-run B&B who attends to every detail. Opposite the train station and yet quiet enough for a good rest. Less than 5 mins drive to Dover castle and the white cliffs. Limited parking for small cars and reservation recommended. Otherwise off-street parking also available.
The host was very friendly and accommodating. Room was comfortable - breakfast was good. It was convenient to train station. We were taking a cruise, so it was easy to go back to train station to get a taxi. Comfy spot - perfect for what we needed. Walkable to town for dinner.
The location was relatively central to the city of Dover. We were able to walk just about everywhere we wanted to visit and explore. The staff was most helpful and social. Driving us to the train station with our luggage was great.
The hosts were fantastic, parking was free right down on the street (or locked parking available in coordination with the staff), en-suite room was very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. Wonderful!.
Excellent guest house. close to the station but with good on street parking of required. Owner was welcomming rooms and breakfast excellent good excellent. Would use again if passing through Dover overnight.
It was close to the train station and very easy to find. The breakfast
was very nice. It is within 20 min walking distance to Dover castle
(uphill of course) and 20-30 minutes walking to the cruise terminal.
Everything. A very warm reception from Laz & Des. Excellent breakfast. Very helpful with advice on where to eat in Dover as well as the local sights to be seen. Highly recommended.
Great friendly welcome. We had to catch an early ferry the next morning and we were very grateful for a cooked breakfast at 6am! We wouldn't have got that service at Premier Inn!.
The hosts of this B&B were ever so friendly and helpful with travel
information. The room was large with a very large ensuite. Overall this
accommodation was great.
Very friendly staff, wonderful room, very cleaned, very good materials, bathroom all in ceramic tiles, quite spacious, optimal breakfast included, excellent location.
Helpfulness of the owners with information and directions. Good breakfast with very prompt service. Comfortable clean room. Close proximity to main line station.
The owners are super, the breakfast is very good, the location is great for the ferry to Calais, the room is clean and fresh -- great value! Thanks!.
Lara the owner was very friendly, very close to the ferry, breakfast was very good and cooked early as we were getting the first ferry to France.
Excellent value for money, strategic position, just close to Dover Priory station, clean, very nice staff, excellent breakfast, nice room.
Friendly host, good food, clean rooms, and value for money! Made us feel very welcome and was very comfortable given the price we paid.
Laz and Dez are wonderful hosts. They are very helpful and were a pleasure to meet. Thank you so much. Breakfast was delicious.
The host/hostess were very friendly. The room was clean, and we got new towels every dag. Central location.
Very friendly comfortable hotel. Ideally situated for us to catch the ferry early the following morning.
Guest House owner and staff were very accommodating and I would recommend this facility to anyone!.
Friendly welcome and the provision of a very early breakfast as we were getting an early ferry.
We had a great time and Laz and Des were wonderful hosts. The breakfast was very good as well.

Nothing ... it was brilliant!.
Nothing, it was all great!.
Being on the top floor was a 'trudge'. We felt very cramped in the room, with insufficient places to open and use our suitcases. I like to read while traveling, and the bulbs were much too low in wattage.
Nothing.
I know they can't help this but there are lots of stairs and some
street noise.
The only thing is the stairs, but with most B&Bs there is always
stairs to overcome.
Not much power in the water for the shower.
Nothing.
nothing.
Nothing.
Train a little noisy, but not unbearable.
- No en-suite facilities (though wash-basin was available) - Walls not sufficiently noise-proof as neighbours could be heard making noise next door - Could feel the place rattling as trains passed underneath.
Needed windows open for good air flow.
Bed could be more comfortable.
Everything was ok.
1. The train station is just across the road so when the trains move the entire building shakes. Didn't bother us too much, but that's a potential issue, especially at night.
2. The toilet seat in the bathroom (Room 7) wasn't attached properly to the toilet and was awkward to use.
Dover isn't the nicest city....
nothing to complain about.
Very poor WiFi connection in our room.
nothing.

breakfast.
Very narrow bed (for double) difficult in use.
Bathroom and toilet not in room.
lots of narrow stairs.
