I organised my parents to saty at this hotel for the weekend as a present. The owners could not have been more helpful, even sending me a brochure of the hotel to show my parents prior the their visit. It was ideal for their needs, and they were most impressed with being given their own key to come and go as they pleased. its very quite the the hotel staff are freindly and helpful the hots are lovly and freindly and helpfull and funny and easy acesses to the hotel and good parking and town is ten minutes away walking. all reviews »
The owners are friendly, and made us feel at home. It is close to the town centre, and is a good base for the surrounding countryside and places of interest. unlike some, this hotel is not stuffed with frills for visual effect. It is a very welcoming hotel run by very hospitable people.Finn and Else Nielsen where very frendly and helpfull,and the food which was cooked by Finn is first class. Service and food were excellent - what you might expect at a much more expensive hotel. personal attention. The owners and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.Clean, comfortable and an excellent breakfast, our stay of threedays was a wonderful and memorable experience. We are conveniently located on the main road and rail links between South East Edinburgh to London. The Abbeydale Hotel is a good base from which to explore the Peak District or business appointments in the North Midlands and South Yorkshire. The Hotel is located just behind the Football Club. Coming into Chesterfield on the A617 from the M1 you come to an island at the end of the duel carrageway. Go straight across the island to the next island and turn left down Markham Road (A619). This takes you through a set of traffic lights to another island (B&Q on the island).Take the next road after B&Q that you can turn off the roundabout onto and go up the hill to the traffic lights at the top of the hill. Straight across (West Street) and to the next junction where you turn right into Cross Street and the hotel is on the left.
