We were immediately greeted with friendly, efficient staff. Accommodation was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. Delicious breakfast - enough to set us up for a day's sightseeing! Thought it particularly good that checking out time is before 12- this gives guests enough time to have a leisurely breakfast and enjoy their surroundings. Especially good if you've previously had a late night at a show or concert. It's worth taking the lift to the top floor for the view. Thank you f.
all reviews » We were going to the Hippodrome and so I had sourced this hotel as being particularly close. I am a single mother with two children and so I had booked a family room, but I never expected it to be as roomy and practical as it was. With three beds, a decent sized bathroom, a tv and coffee facilities all being on a floor which was clearly marked "QUIET ZONE" I was so impressed and would definitely stay here again. I like the location. It is very close to both coach and bus station. It is at the heart of the city and close to many shopping centres. Both the front and back office staff are efficient. They handled my refunds diligently. I was really impressed and do recommend the hotel to both business and leisure travelers. The staff were very good, accomodating my need to amend my booking. I needed an additional room on the second night, which they told me would be cheaper if I booked it myself online, and they only charged me for 1 of the 2 days parking. Breakfast v good, food constantly replenished. It was close to the Hospital I had to attend also for the shops and central. The food was excellent and all the staff throughout the hotel were polite and were a great help to me as I am Profoundly deaf so took extra time explaining things to me in a caring way. Friendly staff, reception staffed in the evening: we arrived later than planned and were worried about late check-in, but no problem. Room was clean and good size. Restaurant / Breakfast room was nice, breakfast buffet good spread. The hotel offers everything you need at a very reasonable price. Everyone is very friendly and it all works very efficiently. You even get tea and coffee facilities which is very welcome at this price. And it's a very nice city. Rooms are very spacious and clean. A key-card is given to each person. Breakfast is abundant and meals taken at the Beefeater restaurant are good and not expensive. Luggage is stored safely prior to check-in or after check-out. The young lady at reception was very helpful, stored our luggage, let us know as soon as our room was ready and was well informed about public transport. It is a very good location, close to shops and near to the theatre. The hotel is a very good position, near the centre and behind the Bristol bus station. Our room was clean and big. The breakfast has a good price: 5 pounds for a continental breakfast with a big variety of food. The staff were very helpfull. There was someone on the desk all the time. Having a car park for the hotel in the city was very usefull, we did not have to move the car for the whole time we stayed. Nice room, excellent bed! I liked the fact that they requested my name and room number to let me in when I returned after midnight, made me feel safer. Very close to the coach station, big plus!. The location is super for the bus station, and for the shopping. Very central, for most things. The staff were absolutely super, nothing was to much trouble, five star I would give them. This is closest hotel to the bus station so chose it for night before taking bus from Bristol to Heathrow. Facilities were surprisingly good. It was strange -absence of Reception, automates for check-in and check- out but we haven't had problems and 2 members of staff were always ready to help. We stayed here for the Simple Minds concert , exallent position for Colston Hall and shopping for the following day , very clean!! And helpful staff. We were on the 14th floor, and it was lovely and quiet - even for a Friday night and several stag/hen parties in the hotel. Could not fault it. It surely is a dis-incentive for a both business and leisure travelers. There is no programme/policy to encourage long-stay/frequent guests/users of the hotel. The system found it difficult to amend my booking, but the staff persevered. Consequently a queue built up behind me at check in. Nothing. But could have used a bathrobe, as I didn't bring one. The mattress was rather hard and we were hot with the duvet but cold without it. Unusually, there was a limited choice of yogurt for breakfast (we only have the continental breakfast) no sweeteners only sugar, no-one to ask and much of the breakfast was spent with the restaurant manager hearing a complaint from two customers about the poor quality of their evening meal. At 4 after midnight, somebody (obviously very drunk) was walking the corridor banging on doors (and mine) and causing a commotion. Next morning, I spoke to the reception about it, they told me they inspect the corridors every hour (I wonder if this happens a lot). It was rather disturbing. Price of the breakfast to dear. Plenty of cafe's near by, at half the price. A clean comfortable room but if not needing any particular location, might get a better value elsewhere. the room was small a bit on the smal side for a family of 4. no privacy for the parents. No free spaces in the Hotel Parking. But we were given a discount for the Parking in 7 minutes walk. needed both extra beds up which meant had to climb over bed to reach tea stuff. I did not like leaving so soon. No lotions available in the rooms. It would appear the rooms are vacuum cleaned maybe once a week to keep noise levels down cos the previous occupant in my room had eaten a coconut there due to the amount of coconut shy on the floor, I was still picking bits up in between my toes 3 days later. Nothing. Food and beveridges not being replenished at 8.30 in the morning. By the time it was replenished, the food on my plate was cold. All was very good. car parking facilities very limited. Area a bit far from city center. Car park a bit on the small side meaning you daren't move your car for fear of losing your space. Nothing!. cannot open windows and airco system loud making sleep a bit difficult however, to be honest, hotel makes it clear that windows cannot be opened! check-in not very customer friendly, creditcard in machine and follow the instructions on-screen. asked for a quiet room upper floor and was designated a family room (608) with an extra bed!? i am a single traveler!had room changed. hotel personnel (that i met) somewhat officious. all in all not a bad stay but will look for alternative next visit. The room above us, their toilet was broken, so flushed all night long, so didn't get any sleep at all. I slept on the single bed, and the draft from the window was bad. As a mature couple, we did not appreciate having two single beds in the room in addition to the double bed. It made the room very cramped. Surely there must be some rooms without the extra beds. Adviceable to have a fridge in the rooms and more electricity sockets and more TV and Cable channels. The restaurant could do with a bit of cleanliness. Had to pay for a meal, even though it had a dead fly on it and the plates were dirty.The Wi-fi is out of service,poor!!!. No Parking. nothing. Reception area a bit small,making it a bit crowded when there was a queue. like most other hotels, no free wifi. Usually full parking.
