The hotel has a great location for those wanting to explore the city, especially good for the shops with Cabot Circus a 5 min walk away! Staff couldnt have done more to make our stay! Rooms were clean, beds were extremely comfortable and i really liked the bathroom. Rainfall shower and bath was brilliant. Fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn. We booked last minute and the staff could not have done enough. Derek at the door went so far as to have a list of excellent things to do in Bristol for free!! Give that man a 5 star rating. Excellent service well done to all.
all reviews » In superb central position could not have been better. Hotel was lovely and staff so helpful. Our first trip to Bristol to catch up with our grandaughter who is at university there - we had great weekend, so much to see loads of shopping and great restaurants. Stayed at this hotel for one night only. It was very modern and clean and I would have loved to use all the facilities i.e. the gym etc but unfortunately one night wasn't enough. I would recommend this hotel - location also excellent if you want to shop. The staff were extremely helpful from the moment I booked and up untill I checked out.. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely recommend this hotel and re stay ourselves.. The location was amazing and the hotel was very modern.. Everything was perfect. Convenient parking, modern hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. We were 3 adults and 1 child and we ordered a family room - and the one we got was great - it was a suite-like room at the top 7th floor. The fridge in the room, the bath (I hate showers), the comfy bed and the superb location. It is the best city centre hotel that we've stayed in and we would definitely return. Also thought the security was very good. Thank you. The room space was really good for British standard. The room was ready and clean. although it is located in highway there was no noise. it was really good staying here. and I will visit again if I plan to visit bristol again. Good customer service i had an accident in the bar ! A chair broke and collapsed while i was sitting on it. Very bad i am not a big person the chair was faulty but staff were mostly helpful andvery sorry but no comp room !. Fantastic hotel in perfect location... Decoration was very very nice and room was luvly colours. Rain shower was beautiful and very luxurious. Perfect in every way. Staff were very pleasant too... Booking the hotel was busy, the family room had a sofa bed which is not very comfortable but adequate if upu ate staying for just a weekend. Breakfast was a treat. Would definately recommend. It was very comfortable, friendly, conveniently located for our purposes and the decoration and cleanliness were super! Really enjoyed the stay and the bar areas. Ace selection for breakfast. I came to Bristol to see "The Rocky Horror Show' I've travelled to a few cities to see this show, on a budget and this was by far the best hotel I have stayed in. The initial welcome on check in, the comfort of the room, the balcony view overlooking the City centre, the cleanliness and the number and quality of the lifts. Central location, friendly staff, very comfortable room with great breakfast, plenty of choice. Parking a bonus and very reasonably priced for city centre. The checking-in staff were extremely nice, patient and very helpful. Whenever we walked through Reception we got a lovely smile and friendly hello. Also disliked parking charges, but did like the fact that it was cheaper than some other hotels. Paying £10 a nite to park car when was unaware would be charges... The wi-fi cost £7 per 24 hour period after 30 mins free a day. This only connected one electronic device in each room. We travel frequently and this is a real deal breaker for us when choosing accommodation. It should be free as it is almost everywhere else. I wouldn't stay at a Holiday Inn again purely for this reason until they change this antiquated policy. There was also no toilet brush and we would prefer a top sheet when nights get hotter. We booked room only and the cost of breakfast seemed very expensive. The bar staff kindly attempted to make some cocktails, they should have just said the bar didn't serve them.This is a very minor criticism. Loved it all. Floppy smoked bacon for breakfast. Mini bar was empty except for pate which a previous guest had obviously left and the cleaners had missed. Shower advertised as a rain water shower but the power wasn't great making it worse than a standard, wouldnt of minded so much if this hadnt been advertised as a selling point for the room!. Having to pay for parking. £10 per day although that was a discount on the full ncp price. Nothing. Having been out for dinner after travelling for hours was looking forward to relaxing in the bath with the tv. Remote not working. Went to reception and was told point blank " that takes watch batteries we dont have them!!" No apology or anything. Spoilt our night of luxury really. Did mention to receptionist that night staff were rude (perhaps just ill equipped) and she apologised but might as well have stayed in a standard room and saved money. Your reception staff were really not friendly. A lady in particular, young, brown hair and not from the UK was very unhappy in genral, no smile, not friendly, not nice really!! Loved the Bristol hotel apart from her. Not the best front face of your buisness. Lack of dedicated car park. Room had no chest of drawers for storing clothes. Insufficient lighting over bathroom mirror. Other than liquid soad dispensers and facial tissues, absence of free toiletries in bathroom. Spots on carpeting in corridors. Nothing really. Had an issue with the shower temperature gauge but it wasn't the end of the world and the receptionist was very apologetic. £10 per day parking fee. Nope, it's was all good thank;). The bar area next to the restaurant lacked character. There was nowhere cosy and enclosed to have a drink and relax in the evening. Not enough towels. Wi-Fi wasn't free. costly wifi. Got trapped in the underground car par by the barrier not rising - evidently it does this often, as the biker behind us knew just what to do. Made us cross!. shower over bath breakfast - overpriced. Only a few quid for an upgrade! Should probably let you know this on check in. shower did not work properly, was too late to call the staff to fix it. very little - their were some very late-night revellers shrieking in the corridor at 1.30 am and again at 3.30 am but that was beyond your control. Shower controls were incorrectly labelled and it was difficult to moderate the temperature of the very hot water. Free internet in room limited to 30 minutes, alrhough free all day in lobby. Nothing. Shower was very hot and couldn't be adjusted.
