Great hotel in a great location. Slightly out of the centre but only a 15 minute walk away. Lots of restaurants and bars only five minutes away. The biggest comfiest bed I've slept in for ages. Really funky modern interior. Yes the rooms are small but perfectly formed. The shower is simply amazing. The room was spotless with clean bedding and towels every day. The receptionists were really efficient and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

Really well situated in a nice quiet but cool part of town, reminded me of a mini NY warehouse. Nice places to eat close by. Amazing power shower and LED TV over the bed. Very comfy bed with crisp white sheets, apparently egyptian? Yes I will be going back.... I am not that young but appreciate functional clean design I loved the rooms but they may not be to everyone's taste .This is not the hotel for a romantic weekend away from the kids in fact best suited to solo of a young couple. I loved the location the staff were excellent the hotel was clean and well designed. I had everything I needed and nothing I didn't. Booked after stranded in Birmingham by storms, turned up worn out and instantly felt welcome. If you want the full works, look elsewhere, but if you want a bed, an amazing bathroom and nothing more, stay here!. What works with the bloc is that it is a good price for a great service. The rooms are compact but you get a comfy bed, good wifi, a TV and a lovely bathroom. You can park at the NCP close by and walk into town. Staff are helpful, efficient, and kind. As a solo woman traveller I am looking for a stylish, friendly and comfortable hotel with free wifi,which is why I regularly use the Bloc. The staff are great and it feels very safe. Just remember to bring a coffee back with you for the morning!. Room was so cosy and had everything you needed in one compact room. Location was good, £5 in a taxi to shopping, mailbox, broad street etc. Really clean, smart and the design was great, would stay again for that price!. My mum and I came by train from Norwich and stayed for the Bruno mars concert at the nia. The bloc was a short distance from both the arena and new street station. The pillows were very plastic like and could not soften to your head so this effected my sleep. They need more refreshments in the lobby, one vending machine is not sufficient. On returning to my room the floor had been cleaned with bleach which made the room smell for an hour or so. I stayed for 4 days but they stung me for the Saturday eve. Nothing but the showers get the prize for the most interesting I have ever seen again read the previous comments by others The windowless rooms are novel but ok once you get used to the concept. Nothing!. The room was quite dark, I think a couple of the bulbs weren't working so a bit difficult to get ready. Not much storage space if you are staying for longer than 1 night. The only thing missing was a kettle. Only because me and my boyfriend LOVE tea. No food or drink available. ...the last 2 times I stayed there was a slightly damp/musty smell in the rooms. I didn't notice after a couple of minutes, but despite all the good points, it might be enough to put me off. Can't complain about anything. Was perfect for what we needed. No natural light in the rooms. A bit small. The bathroom walls were partially see through. No problem about the lack of window until wanted to check the weather in the morning. No window in the room so a bit claustrophobic. Wet room bathroom which makes using the bathroom after you've had a shower a messy experience. There was nothing that i didn't like. I cant wait to come back!!. A bit compact for a longer stay and a tea/coffee facility in the room would be a great plus. I didn't dislike anything, the rooms are small and the facilities limited but as long as you are aware then you wont be disappointed. Just the very noisy housekeeping - probably not a hotel to stay in if you want a lie in! Otherwise excellent. - Room would be too small if you were staying for anything other than a short break/ business trip. - no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but this is made very clear when you book!. We parked around the corner, the hotel could of done some kind of deal with the car parking as we ended up spending £9!. The room door may as well have just been a curtain for all the soundproofing it provided. The couple across the landing obviously didn't realise we could hear all, but then maybe they did ;-). As the bathroom was a wet room needed a little more space. Everything got wet. Rooms very small but sufficient for a short stay. Toilet and toilet roll did get very wet whilst using shower. Wet room not ideal with size being so small. Maybe a slightly bigger room. Lighting in the room was too dark slightly depressing if you have a room without a window. Nothing. Just the fact there aren't more hotels around the UK. Would like them to be at more destinations but I'm sure they'll branch out more over the years. No tea/cofee making facilities in room, its not practical to have to go down 3 floors to buy a cofee at reception first thing in the morning. It is decidely compact and somewhat sparsely decorated. However, you really cannot complain for the price. Windowless internal rooms are quite disorientating. Quiet location but a bit off-centre. Spot on as usual. We stay here frequently as it is the best value in every respect. No window, however I knew that before booking. Room with no window just a fake blind is my only complaint but a reason not to book here again. having a room with no window. Nothing!.
