We booked a standard room but during check-in got upgraded to a suite. This was a very pleasant surprise and we got a very light and spacious room. The room and the hotel in general was clean and comfortable. We were also pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff. The location was also good; easy to find and walking distance from seaside, restaurants and shopping. The hotel has a service to the airport which was cheaper than taking a taxi and more convenient than using the train wit.
all reviews » Really efficient use of space, even though the room couldn't have been bigger than 7'x14', there was plenty of room for luggage and to do exercise in the morning. Monastic cell feeling, single firm bed, small window onto a very dark well so no natural light. Next door to the Pammukale bus stop in the centrum so really convenient because you get dropped off right in front by the free shuttle from the otogar. Very friendly staff. Great location next to the International Fair (free park to walk round with a central funfair). Hotel is new and modern (recommend the deluxe room for size although still smallish). Very close to railway and Metro. Try the street 'restaurants', very cheap and good food, if you dont mind sitting next to the road. :) Ferries at harbour very cheap and wonderful scenery. Location terrific. Exit basmane train station (for example, coming from airport or Selcuk -Ephesus) main door, turn right and walk 150 steps. Look up and you will see the neon sign for the hotel. If you look right, you will see the entrance to huge beautiful park. Walk to great cafe and shopping scene, major attractions. Good facilities and snack menu in bar/lounge for after hours. Rooms were very clean, staff was very helpful and was always ready to help and guide regarding the area, where to go and whats the good places around. Breakfast was good turkish breakfast. Location was very good, near city center, alsancak and minutes from seaside. Overall experience was very good and i would highly recommend this hotel for your short stays in Izmir. The room was very clean, the staff excellent and very helpfull. We travelled with car and I did not have to worry where to park it. The hotel staff would take it and bring it back to me every time I needed it. The best thing was they were honest and really helpful, the guys were neat and handsome, the lady who served the breakfast was very nice and presented the best service. it's a very small hotel next to a busy round about. but the interior design and the furniture provide the most comfort you can expect from a short stay in a small hotel. Room furniture was poorly finished (quality trade workmanship seems rare in Turkey everywhere) Location is a city, can be hot and often dirty. If you want shopping, recommend you take the ferry (very cheap) to Karsiyaka. No beach, but you can take a taxi from front of hotel to south bus station and choose beach destination from there, about 1hr ride. Make sure you book return journey right away or you might not get back to hotel till midnight. Some internet problems in my room, although they did their best to fix it. No electric kettle in the room. Breakfast could have some hot food. Nothing. * The bathroom was too small. Noisy during hard rain. although there is an aircon but it wasn't cool enough (I went in July) and they could do with a bit more varieties in the breakfast selection. The Breakfast was good but could have included some fresh fruits. The staff did not speak English which was challenging as my first visit to Turkey. The wifi did not work in my room...had to come down to hotel lounge. Only one English satellite channel.. News on loop... they charged my credit card although i was told i could pay cash at the reception. The view, the air conditioning is poor, the Wi-Fi is almost non-existing in the rooms, the Jacuzzi is too tiny for two people, there is no possibility to have a room with single king size bed, rooms are all standard with twin beds. Not much space in the room. Nothing. bathroom is small. Poor wireless connection, poor breakfast. There is not tub. No view outside of the window. The hotel was very noisy inside - this had nothing to do with the protests going on outside as we had an internal room - doors banging, people shouting and walkie talkies constantly in use. It was a shame because everything was superb. The lack of English spoken by the staff although they tried very hard. The cost of the shuttle from the airport was 40 when the travel agent and the taxi said they would charge 15 tl. The aircon didn't work well. Small rooms and frosted glass window with no view but I guess you get what you pay for and it's excellent value. Don't bother waiting for the lift. Bathroom small and no ventilation. .. The area of Izmir was not tourist-friendly. Toilet (with bathroom) are very small in standart room. Windows are sticked up. The bathroom is a little small specially shower. But it`s OK.
