Friendly staff. Excellent location. Bang in the heart of Sultanahmet, walking distance from most of the tourist spots including Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar. The hotel also arranges for an Airport Shuttle at 5 to 6 Euros which is extremely convenient. A decent breakfast is also served in the mornings. The location is very good, very close to the tourist places and Marmaray. The hotel staff are excellent, super friendly and always ready to help in whatever way necessary. We loved and if we ever go back to istanbul we would certainly stay there.
all reviews » The staff is friendly. We arrived early in the morning (before checking time) and we were given the room and breakfast straightaway. The location is really good, close to Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque... Breakfast is nice, better going early. The staff of Sirma Hotel is the best in Istanbul! Always helpful, careing and friendly. The neighbourhood the hotel is in, is very run down, but to be fair, all of the parts of Istanbul outside the main tourist areas looked pretty ropey to me.That said, we had no trouble there at all, but if you think you may be nervous about walking around at night in an extremely rough looking part of town, i'd suggest you pay a bit more and find a hotel in a better (looking) part of town. Not one for single female travellers (unless you're Bosnian!). Water in the bathroom smelled a bit, but I guess it is an Istanbul issue, not the hotel's one. Our Bath Room toliet had terrible smell entire time. We had to keep door shut. Quoted price for airport shuttle in Turkish Lira and was charged in Euro for twice Turish lira cost! We were told it took 30 minutes to Airport, t took 60 minutes!. Bathroom smelled like a sewer tunnel. Beds uncomfortable. Wifi poor. Very small room, bad bathroom, loud environment. This is a horrible place. Don't stay here! People were smoking non-stop around the place (the room constantly smelled like smoke). The room was cramped and not that clean. Very noisy place, too. Don't stay here!. Basement room has some mold issues .Please avoid these rooms since they lack ventilation. Towels were not clean as I noticed some blood stains on it. Same can be said about the sheets. Please wake up Sirma Sultan. It was noisy in the room. The toilet was very small. Nothing special about breakfast. Just basic. Not good view from window. The musty smell, no window, we moved to the Seres hotel next day. The rooms at the 1st floor very small, noisy and dark, with a very dirty terrace. All bathrooms are degraded and look extremely bad. A general impression of dirtiness.
