the location of hotel down small street is excellent with adjacent massage place, laundry and restaurants all recommended. short walk to beach down lane (and through peoples properties) which felt very safe even at night. stayed in duplex family room which were large and clean. 1 room did smell a bit musty at first but the smell went after a couple of days. didnt have too many problems with noise from adjoining properties or rooms. found bed and pillows comfortable. breakfast is good with a lar.
all reviews » Poppa Palace provides a great service for the price you pay. All of the staff were fantastic and the bar man even suggested we go to the night market in Phuket Town which we thought was fantastic. He was also very friendly and chatted to us a lot as did the waitress. Our rooms were lovely and clean and maintained daily. There was quite a large selection for breakfast which I found surprising given the price of our stay. We were happy to follow all of the hotels rules and request as it makes. We loved it! The staff were friendly right from our arrival, and we were always greeted with a smile. The breakfast buffet was delicious and offered a lot of variety. Our room was clean and the air-conditioning was very effective at beating the Thailand humidity. Mini-bar prices were cheaper than buying from the shops! We were so pleased with Poppa Palace and all its staff and will definitely be going back sometime, especially at such an exceptional price. We really enjoyed our days here. We stayed there for 4 days. We booked for standard room but the hotel free upgraded to superior room. The hotel was very closed to beach, mall & night life. The varieties of choices for breakfast for non-Muslim and for Muslim can enjoy the eggs & fruits. The staffs were very good. Free wi-fi in the room. Thanks to Poppa Palace Hotel. We'll surely can again. The Family Deluxe Room is excellent for a family with older children. The breakfast was good everyday, if you want bacon you just need to ask for it. Omelettes were great. The staff were so friendly and helpful and joked all the time with us. The massage parlour across the road was great. Laundry directly opposite is run by a lovely lady. Patong Corner restaurant is fabulous. They serve good breakfast! And of course they are strategically located - near Patong beach, Bangla rd, jungceylon mall and all other shops, massage places and restos. Great value for money! I'm coming back next time im in Phuket. What's more, the resto "Orange" next to it serves really good food at great prices too!. The resort was so convienent to everything without the need to catch a taxi or wait for transport, we had a large group travelling together and Poppa's gave everyone the chance to explore the area at one's leisure, the staff were excellent and breakfast was ample, really impressed and will definetly stay again. This is my 2nd time staying here, since then they had a new wing built and new bigger restaurant. I'm stayed in the deluxe double room at the new wing on the top floor, very big room with a balcony with some sea view,good cold AC also a fan in the room, nice pool you can actually swim, ok breakfast. Its location is quite good, in between of the beach road and main road (about 7 - 10 mins walk to Jungceylon). It's located in a quiet place and also worth for money (cheap and clean). The staff/Chef? in the Restaurant was friendly. We were satisfied with the overall facility n service in the hotel. Walking distance to all foods and bargain stall. Looking at the map it seem not very near to bangla rd and jungceylon BUT it less than 5mins. Quiet place unlike some with loud pub beside. It was a flood during the day I check out to airport, the staff was very helpful to give assistance. Location...location...location! This hotel is ideally situated in Patong Beach close enough to shopping, the beach and nightlife but quietly located in a side street. While the price is low (compared to neighbouring properties) the hotel is still 3.5 - 4 star. Friendly and helpful staff. I liked the good breakfast. I liked the comfortable room and location very near to the beach and the lively Bangla road but the hotel was in a quiet location. I enjoyed the pool area as well. It was a bit smelly when we walk thru the hotel side, towards the beach road, however it didn't bother us much. On the day I check in, there are some sand on the bed. I guess the cleaners hand was not very clean at the point of housekeeping. Morning breakfast same food for all 3 morning. Vintage tv wasn't working properly and really needs updating. Beds were Thai style firm and caused back problems for our whole family. But these are minor complaints over a week's happy stay. Sometimes there was no room to lie down by the pool because it was rather small and there were too many guests. Nothing to be complained!. For their housekeeping they have to work harder still not perfectly done on bedding. Having too finally leave. -bad smell in the elevator. -bad smell in the room. -only one card provided for room and pay 200 baht insurance for another card. -100 dollar insurance paid in check in. -AC take time to cool the room. -the dog is always by the entrance. -very simple hotel. Reception ladies could be more welcoming with a little bit smile. They are more like cashiers. Hotel wifi was down causing inconvenience for our stay. -the bath tubs are tiny -the internet service (using the hotel PC) is poor, ie 5 of 6 machines didnt work, the speed of service on the one functioning PC was abysmal. -breafast buffet is acceptable, but not as good as rivals, eg no ham or bacon to go with your egg. Hotel quotes high rates for tours and programs, may be it is same with other hotels too. Its better to explore options through outside agents. Wifi, though free, is unstable. Cost of internet. Female staff were more interested in putting on make-up than customer service. small pools tend to get crowded during peak season. old tv should be upgraded. breakfast is poor. The hotel was very hard to find taxi drivers had trouble finding it. Could have been a bit more flexible on the check-in timings. nothing. Liked it all. WiFi was horrible and on top of that you had to pay extra. Bath would have liked walk in shower as being tall couldn't get under bath shower Breakfast not much choice as other hotels. Breakie was very ordinary , but ok And full payment at check in was required. Liked all. all the ways leading to the hotel are without street lights. Family room has 2 king sized beds not suitable if you have more than one child. Breakfast-appeared to mainly cater for travellers from one part of the world. being charged for every little thing. lack of fan in standard room. pool a bit small.
