We travelled with a 10 week old, and they were great having a crib waiting in our room, and an upgrade so we'd be more comfortable. Also the kitchen facilities are lovely and handy if you need a break from eating out. The staff were super friendly and professional, remembering names and greeting you each time you walk in (though good morning 5 times before 12pm might be a bit over the top :)). Even the breakfast staff were fantastic. The food is nothing special, but it's great having it provid.
all reviews » Every thing was perfect. From the minute we arrived we were meet by happy smiling people. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The young ladies at Reception were so helpful they were a pleasure to meet and talk with. Well done young ladies. Our room had everything we needed and housekeeping done a great job at keeping it clean and tidy. And a big thank you to the porters the first people we saw when we arrived and the last when we sadly left. We will certainly make sure we stay with you agai. Friendly staff. Great location. In spite of some of the reviews regarding the construction noise which worried us initially, and even though our apartment was facing the construction, the noise was minimal and never bothered us at all. We had a great stay. Staff were courteous, service was fast. Amenities were complete up to the iron and an iron board. Utensils were also present. Perfectly situated for roaming the city through walking, MTRs stations were only about 10-15 mins walk. Near shopping areas and a lot of resto around the vicinity. Conviniently located by Bras Basah MRT and a 10 minute walk to either Raffles City/Marina Square near City Hall MRT or Orchard Rd. Very functional apartment, nice view from pool and helpful staff. We are all 5 adults and only 4 included in the breakfast, but when I checked out they did not charge the 5th person. Very accommodating staff and hotels location is very good. The noise from the downtown line MRT construction is 24/7. I'd stay here in a heartbeat the next time I come to Singapore, were it not for the noise. We were on the 9th and 10th floors, and the noise was still loud at night. I'll be back, but not until 2017, when construction stops. The laundry is fairly pricey ($8+ for a wash and dry), but at least there are the facilities if you want them. Having to leave to fly back home. Poor breakfast choices. We expected a better spread than what wss presented. Breakfast. It caters more for indian guests. I only enjoyed the coffee and bread on a daily basis for the 4 days spent, it badly needs total change of their breakfast menu. Mattress was a bit to firm, apartments could do with a diswasher and a bath tub. No air con in lift or corridors. Not their fault but they have major underground rail line being built in front until 2017 so car access is to within 100 mt or up into the 2nd level carpark. We have no compliants. no balcony.. The on-going construction in front of the hotel. Although it is not bothersome once you are already inside your room. Construction works all around, but that's not their fault. The breakfast was very poor!. The construction for the new MRT station/line. Not the responsibility of Somerset but a pest nevertheless. Better selection of tea, including green tea. Construction noise from new train station Access dificulties due to road closure using Taxi. Bencoolen Street Being closed for Underground Metro work. Location above has been rated fair on account of this. Currently the construction for the MRT extension is on Bencoolan street right in front of the hotel. However noise is not a problem. Bathroom got very hot. Building works for new train station went on all night. No decent breakfast room. Staffforgot to post mail. Breakfast - almost the same for four days; limited choices. I think this is the only aspect that needs improvement. The kitchen needs to be equipped with more utensils. There were hardly any. Beds were hard. shabby run down room. we dont need a kitchen , but a better well appointed room. The construction noise that starts at 8:35am every morning on weekdays were unbearable. Housekeeping needs to be more attentive with their replenishment of the apartments necessities. I Don't think there qss something that i did not like...all found as expected. No room service, no house keepinging on sunday, no bacony facilities, no regular restaurant, not much good free to air tv. very limited breakfast selection. there's construction right in front of the building. work starts 8 am till 10pm. and the noise isn't good. we arrived home after a tiring day and even with TV on, we can still hear them. the taxi direction also made it a little be confusing. Aircons loud, unsafe windows/balcony for small children. Because there was construction on front of the hotel. It was noisy. its a bit old. web site photos are nothing like the actual rooms. The noise caused by the construction next to the window is almost unbearable. approach to the hotel, breakfast, there were two lizards in the room for all the 4 days we stayed. Crowd road , not clean around.
