the design of the building, use of brick, stone etc to retain the 'old' feel of the place whilst having all modern comforts, roof top bar, swimming pool, size of rooms. All I can say is wow!!! The hotel is beautiful, and is situated ina perfect location. The staff was very helpful, and everyone wasvery friendly. Confort, decor and pool. Excellent location. Architecture, design food.

Got noisy in the evenings...accoustics not good. Disappointed that we visited when rooftop bar was not open (March). I booked a twin room 7 months ago and there wasn't one available once we got there.the pool and health spa facility was closed .major upset as this was a main part for selling the hotel. Our room was noisy at night due to air conditioning plant being locateddirectly above.Although rate was confirmed by Booking.com, they charged me 30% higher price for room. it was a little bit too noisy in the morning, as maids were hoovering from 8 am; a little bit dissapointing that we havent received any fresh fruits as we saw the maid bringing the fruits to other rooms next to ours. the price of the hotel was quoted in Euros but we went to pay the desk advised us that they do not accept Euros. if we needed to get up during the night were not able to work out how to operate lights by the bed, so had to use a small torch to see.no bath. Upon arriving at the restaurent staff noticed us then didn't approach us we had to approach them and ask if it was ok to dine. We had booked a double room but were given a twin room. On check in we were given the wrong room number so went to the wrong room and couldn't get in. We weren't offered help with our luggage on arrival I would have expected more from a five star or at least an apology. All which is linked with lights and AC is not simple to use for guests. Rooms wth view on cortyard are dark and lights and mirror in bathroom are not efficient. Quality and sevice of Tea does not match with % even 4 stars. Blackout in the bedroom is not enough efficient. Found the hotel temperatrure to be rather cold.Hotel interior decoration was a bit to dark for my taste. lights in bathroom did not allow me to put on make-up. Breakfast buffett, while plentiful was set up in the smoking room. I did not see anyone smoking, nevertheless our table had a dirty ashtray on it. Also buffett was not streamlined and we had to wait twice for coffee. Staff were efficient but not very friendly and not pro-active at all. Would like tea and coffee facilities in room.Staff were polite but not particularly friendly. There is no car parking which is very expensive. service not consistent, for the very high price I was expecting more than I got!!!. dissapointed with service. Wooden floors throughout room and hallway make for a very noisyexperience. Lighting fixtures defective in rooms and unnecessarilycomplex to operate. Exorbitant beverages prices. Staff offered uslimited menus only with inferior quality wine and drinks. Only afterquestioning further did they offer a better quality selection. No bodywas at the door to greet us or assist with our luggage. 4 stars.
