Superb location ! The room was extremely pleasant, with two armchairs beside the window, making for a great relaxing time, as the view out into the garden was beautiful. The room facilities were excellent, and I would say it was one of the best rooms we have experienced anywhere in the world..and we have traveled extensively ! We thoroughly recommend this hotel. Room clean and comfortable, with a great lake view.. Buffet breakfast very nicely presented and served in the dinning room. They stored our luggage for us while 4 adults took a Milford Sound tour.
all reviews » Nice clean spacious room & we got a free upgrade to lake view room. Sitting on the patio overlooking the beautiful lake was magical. Would have liked to have stayed longer. Friendly staff. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The facilities were excellent. Meals were good. Efficient service. I found the resort reasonably priced. World class position and views of the lake. We were two mature couples who stayed in a two bedroom villa. Great location right on the lake in Te Anau and within a few minutes walk of restaurants and shops. Villa layout was nice. The location was central to everything. And if taking the glow worm tour, the walk to the doc is less than 5 minutes from the hotel. Great little meat pie bakery in the town center. The room was fantastic with the lake view and a good in town location. The hotel itself had a bar and large glass windows, which was nice looking out on the scenery over breakfast. Friendly welcome and upgraded because there was a lake view room available. Staff very helpful whatever the problem (not with our stay) Lovely comfortable room and beautiful view. Some cats living in the neighbourhood, clean and warm villas with nice space and laundry facilities in separate houses. Good location directly at lake side. like the comfort of the bed and the bathroom facilities...the ironing board and iron came in very handy as we had been travelling and in suitcases. Clean. Checked for lake view on the web and was assigned a villa. But Booking and hotel quickly corrected. Need to make changes on the web pictures. Our room was warm but the lobby and bar area were a little too cool. Although sharing a bathroom was not an issue, the bathroom itself needed to be updated. Sinks, faucets, tub and shower were all old and in need of replacement. We had a lake view room and I found it a little odd that the room key did not open both the hallway door and the lake view door. Wifi was in public areas only, I prefer to use the internet in private. Food not the best but ok and lots of other places to try close by. No free wifi in the rooms but at least in the lobby. didn't like the fact that the young woman who was at reception at the time did not find our reservation and she sent us off to the other Distinction....however, another more senior member of the staff came to our rescue when we returned to the hotel and upgraded one of our rooms, with apology and explanation that the former member was a new employee. Nothing. They mixed up a dinner order serving an entree size instead of a main. I felt they should have credited the cost but they didn't. the shower had no pressure and two taps dripped constantly in bathroom otherwise the2 bed unit was lovely. We did notice that there is a lot of moss on the roof of each villa which is not good for the roof but also the living environment in the villas. Lack of ventilation in bathroom. WiFi was only available in the lobby. The "bar food" was the same price as the restaurant fare. Should have wifi in rooms. restaurant very expensive - meals very small - desserts almost non existant - avoid. Being told no by a male staff member we couldn't get into our hotel early (we had a wedding just before usual check-in time). Then told by a female that it was possible to guarantee it for a $40 fee. Other wedding guests at other hotels had no trouble like us. I am no longer able to work here. Outdoor area near the spa needs maintenance / upgrading. Window frames looking a bit tired. Restaurant expensive - food poor & very small servings. The fact that we had booked a 2 Bedroom Villa that said the bathroom had been refurbished. The photos on your website have an updated bathroom, but the bathrooms havn't been redone yet. They did offer us 2 motel rooms instead but they didn't have an interconnecting door and with kids that just wasn't an option for us. I was a bit dissapointed as I booked this villa because it had been refurbished. Your initial reception staff "upgraded" us to a standard hotel room - nowhere near as nice at the Villa and not what we asked for. Subsequent staff fixed the problem promptly and well. Stairs up to our room - we had heavy cases and a ramp walkway would have been a help. Some buildings were being worked on, apart from the visual impact of this, the stay itself was very peaceful. Plastic still wrapped around pork medallion, revolting!. Hallways and stairs in need of re-decorating and cleaning. Nothing. No facilities for dining after 8.30pm or room service at the time of our stay. A few fittings needed a bit of a tidy up. Thought the meals were a bit expensive. Having dinner seperated from the groups. Thought was a bit expensive as decor was dated and we got a back room with no view of the lake. Toilet was hard to flush. None. The hotel needs to have a good renovation especially the general areas and the garden.
