Everything was perfect for me, except maybe a cool air conditioner for summer times is a good idea in your rooms. When its hot you need to open all windows to cool down, but only if there is a breeze blowing, luckily the night I stayed at your motel lodge I caught a nice cool breeze, therefore I had an excellent sleep. But what happens is when the windows are open it lets in all the moths and insects into the rooms. I lived in Thailand and south east Asia for 16 years all hotels have air condit.
all reviews » Pleasant motor inn right on the foreshore of Lake Taupo. Good value for a clean and comfortable room. Excellent facilities provided in the room. Good size bathroom with a spa bath and separate shower. Motel slighlty removed from the main restuarant area, which meant driving but also meant noise reduction. Good clean, comfy room with a balcony and views across Lake Taupo. Quiet location at night, though road busy during day. Too far to walk into town but only a short drive. The Managers were so nice and accommodating - location divine - have booked to stay there again on way South. Could have stayed there for a week if time had permitted. This motel is highly recommended. I arrived early and was accommodated with respect. An excellent place to stay. Thank you to all the staff and managers. We like the view and fact that we could talk to friends in a separate room other than the bedroom, sitting room which is usual in most motels. Room overlooking Lake Taupo and the 3 volcanoes beyond. Central location in Taupo on the lake. Clean and comfortable. Lovely large room with great view of lake and easy walking distance to town centre very clean and enjoyed our stay. -Modern furnished apartment. -It was so beautiful in front of the Taupo lake. -Good services. -Wireless internet. Just enjoyed the nice and quiet and it have very nice and tidy clean rooms, which I always look for.......... The unit had everything we needed, it all worked and there was a large spa bath. We were in a back unit with out a view of the lake!! We were visiting from Australia and that is what we would have preferred!. Nothing. A little bit too far too walk into the town. There was nothing to dislike. Fairly tight parking (but it was very full) the nosie of the water from other peoples units showering etc. nothing. No TV in bedroom. Noisy from road traffic. Requires double glazing. No tv in bedroom. No DVD player and limited movies. The smell of the cleaning products - very strong Noise from the road. parking a bit haphazard. I booked a room with a view which was stated on the booking however we were placed in a front room but on the bottom level and there was no view once a car parked in front of our unit. We took this up with the owner who said " this is what you booked" I was not impressed. I did expect better customer service and a friendlier manner in dealing with this issue. how small the room was. we asked for a lake view, althou we got that, we were stuck in a corner room on the lower level, bit disappointing. one small couch in main room which converted to a bed for my 2yo, not comfy at all. Thin walls, could hear the next door when they were talking and using the bathroom, not good. Thousands of dead midgies along the top of all the cupboards indicating a lack of attention to detail when cleaning. Inundated with Midgies each night and very uncomfortable to say the least. Female manager's answer was to put a towel around the door at night to stop them. Maybe if the gaps were fixed this wouldn't be necessary. Male manager said he would make it up to us. Female manager gave us a free load of washing, hardly making it up to us. Will not stay there again. Housekeeping was very uneven - unvacuumed, unwiped surfaces. Thin walls. Neighbors did nothing but smoke on their patio and play classic rock from sunup to 10 pm. Bedroom windows are totally exposed from back stairs. Equivalent of a low end chain motel near the airport in the US in terms of decor, furniture, bed and other guests. You can do better.
