Rooms are modern, well appointed, spotless. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and responsive to every request for assistance (tourist advice, directions, baggage storage, late check out, etc.). The manager is outgoing and interested in his guests. The hotel is just a short walk to the passenger ferry to downtown Auckland and the hotel provides a return voucher. You can get to the city quickly and easily without the hassles of parking a car. There is plenty of free parking at the ho.
all reviews » The bed was really comfortable! A massive plus, and the cleanliness overall was brilliant. A few things could have been improved on though. Clean fresh decor, spacious rooms,plenty of storage space. Loved the bathroom size and open layout, with little extra's, great outdoor area for my ground floor suite. No view but out door living area and privacy a surprising bonus! Enjoyed the quiet, lovely location, beautiful views across the harbour. Very pleasant short walk the Bayswater Marina. We were late arrivals after reception had closed and hotel made special arrangements. Adequate continental breakfast. The room facilities were excellent and it would have been good to have stayed longer.Free ferry tickets to the city were a bonus and takes you to the heart of the city, ideal for sightseeing. On our second day we had a car there was free parking which is not the case in many city centre hotel. Food in restaurant was excellent. Loved this hotel. Very comfortable and spacious suite and good continental breakfast. Complimentary drinks and free ferry tickets included in package. Really made our holiday start off with great memories of Auckland. It was very clean and comfortable with good kitchen equipment, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. The staff cleaned the unit really well and even cleared the dishwasher and put everything away. We have stayed here during winter and it's lovely and warm with underfloor heating in the bathroom. Would highly recommend Takapuna Oaks to anyone. loved the rooms, clean and beautifully done to high standard. loved the tree outside with the tuis, great little area to sit outside in privacy. The view was fab from restaurant, great food- both dinner and breakfast but best of all were the attentive staff especially the young man in the restaurant.Would love to stay again. Everything was fantastic. The location at the Bayswater, the view on the bay, the breakfast (included!! In the price, not like many other restaurants in nz), the staff, the free ferry tickets to go to Auckland... It was more tan a room, it was an apartment with all what you need for a reasonable price. As good as Auckland. The location was awesome and the standard of accommodation great. I ate in the restaurant at a table looking out at the harbour bridge and Sky Tower. The food was good and not overpriced and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend these apartments to someone looking for accommodaion on the North Shore. After a few trips to Auckland on business I have now found a place that is perfect to stay at, this place ticked all of the boxes that I required on this trip and I will stay here again for sure. The staff made us feel very welcome - particularly the barman in the restaurant - he really went 'the extra mile' for us. The clean-up staff were awesome as well - they let us stay in our room until the Americas Cup race was finished - just brilliant! Room was very comfortable and very clean, food was lovely. Location is great, if you don't want to be in hussle and bussle of the city but still have quick access to it via ferries/car. Heaps to do on the northshore and awesome cafe scene!!. The hotel staff are so welcoming, friendly & attentive. The rooms are bright & airy, comfortable & very clean. The complimentary ferry service means that you don't have to take the car into the city. All in all, this is a highly recommended hotel. The appartments are fully loaded and you will get almsotr everything you need. The views from the location are amazing, especially from Sunset Lounge restaurant. All visitors are getting complimentary return trip by the ferry to the Downtown and it takes only 10 minutes to get there. It's a really hidden gem !!!! Can't fault any area. Big well equipped apartment and great view of Auckland skyline from the very reasonably priced bar and restaurant. Free WiFi a rare thing in New Zealand made the stay even better. This was a nicely appointed apartment. It was super close to the ferry for a quick trip to Aukland. It was super clean and the staff was very nice. It is out of the city just far enough to be quiet but still be close enough to get downtown quick. We will stay here again. The apartment as roomy and well appointed with lovely views of Auckland across the harbour. You can catch the ferry across to the CBD with the complimentary ferry tickets or, if you have a car, Devonport village is only 10mins drive away for great restaurants. No better way to see Auckland than to be just a ferry trip away from the CBD, and still have great views, free parking in a really comfortable and modern room with so many other items (breakfast, internet, etc) provided as part of your very reasonable tariff. Very helpful staff make you feel welcome. Location is peaceful with a lovely view of the city across the water. This is our second stay here. The room is good quality, well laid out, well maintained and we had a great view across to the harbour bridge. This stop over was the highlight of the weekend, modern clean fresh rooms with space, wow factor food at the restaurant, Helpful staff with a sense of humour..and what we got for the price.....to get all off these together is rare... We will be back!!. Room 307 - The whole set up was great - friendly, helpful staff. Good location offering peaceful setting with easy access to the city. Apartment layout almost perfect - 2 Bedroom needs en suite where currently laundry room. Switch with 2nd toilet. Very clean and the kitchen had everything. The bathroom was huge,also very clean. It is basic though not sub par. Mold in some of the grout in the bathroom, stains on the dining room chair seats ingrained, Wish they had a mini conventional oven, I like to be self sufficient and have a special diet, don't like microwave! A lot of ecofriendly people prefer conventional cooking and raw foods to microwave. l Not the most vibrant reception but definately an intimate place to stay. Car journey in to centre of Auckland was quite long and slow at peak times. Distance from the airport, but with a rental car and GPS found it quite easy (but try not to travel in peak traffic on Friday evening!). bed a little too soft - minor issue. The deposit taken when you book, this has messed up my expense paperwork bigtime, surely my credit card number is enough to secure the booking. If you need to drive southside make sure that you allow quite a bit of time in the morning, however as the traffic can bank up bit its worth it. Our room 101, was next too stair well.... Noisy!!!... Especially when your bedroom backs onto it!!. Did ask to change rooms but there were fully booked!!. Bedrooms are small. We were promised to get the garden view and got a fenced balcon on ground floor with a view at the fence (2m high) itself. On the other side we had the guest parking. The complimentary Wi-Fi is limited to 200mb. Reception is opened on weekends from 8am only and you can't get your invoice if you want to check-out earlier. They make a plain copy of your credit card at check-in and you drop-off the key on check- out. Very unsecure. 2% surcharge applies for all cc payments. Nothing couldn't fault it in any way wished we had found it sooner. The gardens and breakfast room decor could use a bit of work so that they match the apartment look and feel, but the food for breakfast was good. The staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful but need some education on the local tourist attractions and what to see. nothing. I wish the fridge was not quite so full with the expensive minibar items, but this is a minor quibble really. Would love to have had access to a spa!. A small uncomfortable couch in front of the TV. Not a real big issue, but a nicer couch would be more relaxing.... The area we had breakfast felt like a bunker. Perhaps a garden outside, designed to enhance the view from that area and/or outdoor seating, would make a difference. Nothing in particular n really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. There was no air conditioning in my room and it faced the sun during the afternoon. The room was hotter than outside so it was very uncomfortable. Marked parking would be an advantage. Not a thing!. time restricted wi-fi connection to internet. Nothing. Our room overlooked the car park but we could still see the sea. Nothing. The entry to the hotel could use a bit of TLC and the back door by lower parking lot was not locked, even at night. We found that a little concerning!. Only thing that we found strange was the time that they chose to clean the apartment, around 4:30pm, right when we were back in the apartment trying to get ready to go out for the evening. Ferry schedule is reduced on weekends and holidays. No answer of after hours phone when needed The safe in our room was beeping and woke us up 3x in the middle of the night with no help to stop it, we thought about going home at 330am...apologetic but no offer of compensation for a waste of a night away from our son (the whole idea of our night out was a sleep in together for the first time in over a year) very disappointing. Nothing. Nothing at all, the hotel was amazing. On one evening service of our order was extremely slow. We were given the smallest and least inviting room perhaps because we book through Booking.com??We did book 2 months before arrival?. Nothing.
