Fantastic staff, Nicole on reception, the gentlemen in the bar and the concierge boys. Proximity to the Viaduct and downtown area. Food was fabulous - room service, bar and restaurant. Excellent wine list. The room was well positioned, great view and outdoor area. The arrival of the cruise ship did not disturb us. Loved our turn down service - a great little perk. 1. The purchase of the internet facility was very fair, with a 24 hour fee but with unlimited download capability. A big difference in policy to the Novotel chain in New Zealand. 2.) The breakfast was very good. 3.) The meals at the restaurant for midday and evening were also of good quality and delicious.
all reviews » The location is terrific for walking anywhere in cbd and close to lots of good restaurants. The rooms are very nice with beautiful views of the harbour. The common areas are very stylish with beautiful views. It was our wedding anniversary - the staff spoilt us rotten with little treats that were totally unexpected. We loved our stay and will at all times recommend to friend faily and work collegues. The staff were SO friendly and SO helpful. Fish restaurant was absolutely divine. The location is super handy and the views are breathtaking. I can't wait to return with my family!. the view, the lovely finish. The bottle of wine from management and the personalised card from the GM, the complimentary wine when our room wasn't quite ready. All staff were excellent. The breakfast was very good, the dining room was pleasant and comfortable, with good service.altogether a pleasant stay. It was woth paying the extra $20 to have an upgrade to the 7th floor - the view over Rangitoto and Auckland was stunning (and I live in Auckland). I like the staff services! Especially tge concierge. They always seem to happy to help us and make us satisfy with things we ask. To much to list: In short when I travel again to Auckland I will again stay in the Hilton. We loved the room with the sea view and the food was awesome especially the breakfast. Our rooms had a beautiful view and the selection for breakfast was very impressive. A couple of very small things - the little milk containers are not adequate and there was quite a bit of mould in the shower. Arriving after dark we were confused with the valet parking arrangements - i.e. going through the Wilson's ticket booth etc. There was nothing that I didn't like. The balcony with beautiful view had no furniture so we had to pull our desk chair and a little table out to sit on to enjoy the view. When we ordered room service we had to ask or another chair as there was only one chair in the room and no where to eat other than the desk. Nothing. I was disappointed with the room size. I know it did give a measurement for the room size but unfortunately that meant absolutely nothing to me (sorry) and I based my expectation on the photos provided. It looked a lot bigger and I was expecting a much bigger room. the fact the telly stopped working twice and the second time noone came to fix it. Balcony could have been cleaner - there was an old cigarette butt out there and clearly the floor hadn't been swept for a while. None. A staff member entering our room with no notice and we were in the bath. People upstairs were a bit noisy. coffee in the room is instant. That we didnt get a harbour view. It's not cheap - but it is lovely. Nothing. Parking should be included in the room price, reception lady on Sunday morning not very smiley. Our room didn't have loungers and there was no cushioning. Isolated, many empty storefronts around it. price. Charging for wifi Confusion about the cost of parking. Our room door was accidentally left open on the housekeeping round, allowing anyone access to our room while we were out of the hotel. Price a bit too high for the standard provided. the hotel is a bit old. I think for what you pay for your lodging at this hotel, you shouldn't have to pay more for wifi/internet in your room. They offered it free in the lobby, but it was a hassle to get a password assigned daily to log in. Also, the breakfast buffet was nice, but a bit overpriced. Next door was noisy.I could hear shrill laughter through the walls. My son rang reception to complain. Beds were too narrow. We had 2 single beds in our room. Normally we would have 2 Queen sized beds. As I have had a stroke I need space to turn over. I nearly rolled out of bed many times. breakfast. the staff, the old building. Stayed at the Sofitel in Auckland days before and its twice as good for the same price. Elevators were difficult to use. The great big roof-supporting pillar in the middle of my room and the cruise ship blocking my view of the water. Almost 500 dollars a night wasn't worth that much the room needed better cleaning I expected 5 star it was 3 star With 5 star features the room was crap I'm booked in to stay again can't change it non refundable I would say this is by far the worst Hilton I have been too after this trip will not stay there again the room was worth 200 a night max don't be fooled by the pics must just be booking. Com who uses certain rooms cause this bathroom had mould and dirt it's run down. Room wasn't ready when we arrived which was an hour after we specified, got a free drink and had to wait 20 mins but got talking to someone who had been waiting an hour and a half. A plate with annaversery cake was in our room which wasn't ment to be there. Took 3 phone calls and a visit to reception to get it removed. Outlook was pretty grubby port. Just expected more from the hilton name especially paying a luxury price. the hotel is tired (tatty armchairs, worn surfaces, faded drapes) and dirty (the deck was a disgrace and the drains blocked). Staff seemed inexperienced. Food too expensive, room too small for the price not enough milk poor coffee. Not in any way did it fee Like a 5 star hotel. Overpriced and not value for money. The staff didn't care they definitely did not go the extra mile I am glad I stayed else where last night and tonight much more pleasant. Terrible staff in restaurant - all students and working holiday types and no professionalism. Overall ? Appalling.
