Alp Hotel is a small and charming hotel right in the Amsterdam city centre, 600 metres from the Jordaan neighbourhood. The hotel includes free Wi-Fi and a garden with a terrace. The rooms are bright and have en suite bathrooms. Rooms with a balcony and/or spa bath are available as well. A breakfast buffet is served in the morning with many choices for an energetic start of the day. You can benefit 24 hours a day from free hot drinks and a fruit bar. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there are various places nearby to have lunch or dinner. Amsterdam Central Station can be reached with a 10-minute tram ride from either tram stop Bilderdijkstraat or de Clercqstraat.The Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank House and Van Gogh museum are within 10 minutes on foot.

When we arrived we couldn't believe how nice it looked, very clean and comfortable. When Greeted by the reception staff we were offered a free drink and some much needed information about Amsterdam. The rooms were newly refurbished and clean. Overall, an affordable great place to stay. (P.s Watch out for bikes when crossing roads!). The rooms were very well appointed and immaculate. The Continental Breakfast was the best. This staff was exceptional, lots of information and assistance booking, etc. Location is great for tram. Every detail at this hotel is well thought out.

We love it so much that the hotel will leave an apple & chocolate everyday on our pillows. The room is so spacious .. simple but still cozy. Breakfast was lovely. Good choice and plenty to eat. Rooms were modernand clean with plenty of facilities including sink, cooker and fridge,lcd tv, jacuzzi bath. Beds were comfortable and the standards ofcleanliness were very high.the staff were wonderful. I did not think to see if the hotel had an elevator. I was travelling with my 82 year old mother. But they assisted us with carrying luggage as we were on the third floor. Very kind staff, nice people, always eager to help you in all possible ways, clean rooms, comfy and pleasant, the best price / quality ratio I have ever seen. Customer Service was great, staff took their time to explain us about Amsterdam, the transportation system, history and the good place to visit. We booked 2 rooms indicating that we were travelling with our children. Despite over a month's advance notice the hotel could only accommodate us on the 1st and 4th floors. Rooms closer together would have been better.A tall stair case lots of step, difficult with luggage. no air conditioning, windows did not have screens and mosquitoes were terrible.......either die of the heat or the mosquitoes. The hotel is located on a nondescript street that's ten minutes by tram to central station, Dam square, and the museum district; if you absolutely must be right where the action is this hotel is not for you, but if ten minutes in a tram won't kill you and you like a quiet, comfortable night's sleep this place is the best in the price range. The room was on the fourth floor with extremely steep stairs, get ready for a bit of excercise or ask about lower floors :). steep staircase, would not want to stay on the fourth floor. Steep Stairs.We were unable to turn off the radiator at night and when showering there was some water coming out of the drains on the bathroom floor. No lift. The discount rate was good but the usual one is to high for the hotel structural standards.Some rooms are too small. The room was very noisy as only single glazed and overlooking the main road which was busy at all hours. The blinds were not very good and let a lot of light through. There needs to be curtains to block out the light. Thank goodness for earplugs and eyemasks!!. Stairs were step but this was known before we went. We booked for a double room with balcony, was a special surprise for mywife's 50th birthday.Paid extra for this but the balcony was standingroom only and at the front of the hotel oberlooking a very noisy street.My request was not met and to add to this there were major road worksgoing on outside the hotel at night.This was unfortunate.The rooms atthe back of the hotel would have been better.Breakfast selection was the same every day and very very basic. We had to pay a higher price because it was gay pride weekend and all the hotels were making the most of the demand. So for a higher price, I would have expected a bit more effort on the breakfast side of things. With regard the bathroom, there was an occasional whiff of sewers. The ladder. the ventilation of bath room is not good enough. Small rooms are realy very small. no smoking area provided. only the stairs!. Lack of lift. But that helps keeping prices down. Hotel is needed to install air conditioning, because a lot of mosquitoes in room.The stairs. No alarm clock.the very narrow and steep stairs. bed was 2 singles pushed together to make a double/queen, this was not mentioned anywhere, and it would have been nice to just have one bed, although each side was very comfy, just couldn't go in the middle or they would separate which was tricky for 2 people.
