The best thing about this hotel is the beach - so long and so beautiful. Plus it is fully isolated from outsiders and is more than enough to handle the hotel guests even if it is 200% full! The beach is about 1 km long!!! Than you have beautiful waves, jungles on both sides of the lagoon, good facilities, hornbill birds, monkeys, wild nature. The water is quite clean in May which makes it a perfect location for sea holiday. Additionally there is a cheap flight from KL and the plan lands 10 min .
all reviews » The rooms had orange coloured Roman blinds, adorning the windows that overlook the pool and the sea. The staff were very friendly and the beach was clean. It's the only 4 star resort at that part of Pangkor. There were peacocks roaming about, couple of monkeys and many hornbill birds. They even had a mini funfair after dinner which I thought was a really nice touch. Breakfast was of good variety although they could pay more attention to hygiene. We had breakfast alfresco, overlooking the sea. B. Very good beach, privat beach, nice long stretched beach. Great sunset! Good breakfast! Nice pool, although not huge. But they have a second new one which makes it more interesting. Nice live music. Easy taxi to go out. THE HEAVEN in Pangkor, no better resort if you want to have everything in one place and can afford the money. Theoretical no need to leave the resort. They have their own jetty. Great location with one of the best beaches I have seen in Malaysia. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which was spacious and comfortable. The hornbill feeding each morning and evening is an extra treat as it is not very often you get to see these amazing birds up close. Beware the mischievous macaques though - sometimes they get too close for comfort!. Wonderful place - wonderful hotel - wonderful people especially the bar man at the monkey bar. Marvelous nature and brilliant, that the animals from the jungle were feed from the hotel. So we saw hornbills, monkeys, peacock and a wild boar. The staff was always attentive and courteous. Compliments to the kitchen - tasty and delicious food. Thank you very much for this great stay. THe view from our room was breatheless. The beach was clean and beautiful. The swimming pool was a great play for the children. The spa staff (Ayu) was excellent -- very accommodating to my specific requests. The recreation counter staff (Azam) was very informative too. It was truly a fantastic break for all of us!. I enjoyed the wild & authentic spot, the best in the island, the amazing wide beach...the good price of the spacious room on the beach( ocean wing), hornbills , peacocks and monkeys as neighbors! And the jungle all around: just a bliss. As for the staff, very nice and attentive. Nice atmosphere and the attitude of staff and guest is great. Sea exploration was great. All guest minded their own business, so we did not encounter any busybody guest there :) Overall it was a great experience and relaxation time there. Had a great time with my wife. I love the food in pacific terrace restaurant, staff name Sharil has done an excellent job. My stay there was superb & ideals it was my birthday.. Sand, beach was fantastic.. Hornbill was just amazing . I really enjoy & would love to come back again soon. Pangkor Island Beach Resort exceeded my expectation, especially after reading some negative reviews. I have to say that the accommodation was first class, the facilities were excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. I will definitely return. the hotel has a really good place lovely animals on it specially the monkeys when they jump into your room balcony , clean place also very polite and good staff , the food is ok western and asian is available either. I love the room I stayed which was in ground floor with my little own backyard. The seaview is satisfactory. The room was clean and romantic. Overall, I am quite satisfy with this resort. The stuff was friendly, hotel room was nice and we got the room in front the beach. Breakfast food was very good. Beach front nice view. we stayed at one of the beach villas, they are very comfortable. We loved the monkeys, peacocks and hornbills. The sea is pleasant. They helped me to do some special arrangements for my marriage proposal. The arrangements were well prepared. Private Beach, Location, Many recreational activities provided, friendly staff, private ferry and many more. Very relaxed environment, not too upmarket so great for families. Lots of lounges for use by the water. Breakfast was plentiful. In particular staff members like Logen (Monkey Bar), Mr. Muthu, Mr. Arasu, En. Suhaimi (Manager), Cik Aminah (Practical Trainie) and En. Rasul. Also En. Omar and staff at Lumut Jetty. I especially liked the overall splendour of the resort. Local town has the most delicious food stalls in the evening. Convenient location to get to from Jetty and well organised getting bags from Ferry port to room. I like the ocean wing room located at ground floor. My children loves it!. The food facilities are just awful. The variety is too poor and the quality is just unbearable. Guess what, the location does not allow you to walk anywhere outside to have meal...you are like a prisoner entitled to eat what you are given. And they don't care what they give you... Take your own food!. The moment we open the room door, a strong musty smell greeted us. little isolated, no easy walking distance to outdoor food stalls. Bicycle rental little expensive and only for inside the resort, thus you need a taxi to leave the resort. Nothing really!. The telephone operator (Touch 1) was speaking too fast and too loud. Sometimes was still busy talking to others while talking our calls. The welcoming fruit baskets for 1 room (we booked 2 ocean view adjoining rooms for 2 nights) was not sent to us at all. The staff blamed it on the monkeys. Totally not professional at all. A little ageing infrastructures of the hotel(would need some renovation ) but the landscape is so wild that it doesn't really matter. No wifi in the room but in other premices of the hotel. Sea:clean but not clear as it could be in tropical beaches. The Buffet pricing is costly. I asked for four poster bed in pacific wing but I got a room in ocean wing. The next time I'm there I would love to have the room in pacific wing. And I think they should have jet ski.. Last but not least I thought the band there is not that great.. Nothing!!. the room was in 2nd floor it was too rude to get my son strolley everyday cause no elevator is there ,. Our room air-con is cold but not when lying on bed... Can't really feel cold in bed since the fan and the aircon isn't facing us. The backyard's lying chair and mini table were little bit dirty with lizards' excretions which is unacceptable for me personally. Our room was so far from the lobby..and my requested by the booking online are not entertained.. The staff confused us about the free taxi to hotel. We had to pay for our taxi which hotel didn't reimburse . dinner is expensive,. Beware of monkeys in the morning and remember to lock your doors. The choice of food menus was restrictive, and the pool bars lacked atmosphere. the room need to be upgraded, the pool towel need to be renew. As a luxury hotel, the hotel should standardice the TV to flat screen and fix the coverage problem or cable problem. Lunch & dinner too costly. Last trip on the 19/4/2013, I found out that there is a lot of jellyfish and my son felt the itchiness on the body after swimming in the sea water.. WIFI only available in public area. Ants in the bathroom. The food was so-so. The room wasn't really clean. We asked the housekeeping to clean the floor as it was really quite dirty & we have a toddler. Even after asking specifically it was still not really clean. No wifi service in hotels room. The toilet is not Muslim friendly. No pipe near the toilet bowl. No guest parking therefore we have to spend extra money for taxi everytime we want went out. Airconditioning in room need to be adjusted more, bit too cold. Also toilet leaked. -need some renovation on pacific wing hotel -proposed for children playground. the food. Buffet dinner. No lunch, no dinner, poor snorkeling area. the food was not that good enough. The Ocean Wing rooms are a bit tired. Need freshening up. Balconies are tiny and design is poor - they haven't capitalised on the resort's greatest asset, the ability to relax outside with full ocean view. Food in the restaurants promised a lot but didn't deliver. We discovered that we'd paid too much. Having stayed during the week, I felt that the resort mainly catered to weekend crowds... It is just a feeling. I also think that Room Service Menu and price of food is a wee bit on the high side. There is certainly a great lack of attention to details that can be improved on and one particular area is LIGHTING of the area at night. I will be glad to assist whomever concerned with a free consultation as I feel this place has tremendous potential to become a top notch international destination. Found a lot of ants in the room when we arrived. 'Resorty' in quite a tacky way: Pool menu just serves up western food: pizza and chips etc and there is a little guitar playing welcome songs when you arrive. Quite naff. Quality is not equal to the price at all. It looks on 3stars. Rooms nothing special and really need updating. However, I wouldn't let this put you off as pro's outweigh cons. * very expensive alcohol (like in most of Malaysia) & meals (unlike most of Malaysia) * internet not working in our room. Buffet dinner taste average only and price are too expensive, room was not clean. Lots of flies in the restaurant which makes the meal and time there much less enjoyable. Jelly fish. Today in South East Asia, it's basically a three star with prices of a five star. the hotel was isolated, so we are forced to spend money there or else spend RM40 for a taxi ride to and return town. i was sensitive skin and do an injection first in my life since travel almost all beaches at malaysia. the hornbill restaurant was full of college boy who undergoing training which is totally unprofessional. I don like the room much , cos old and not so clean as I expected earlier. Missing my Shishedo facial forms on the 2nd day after the house keeping.
