You can start your Seoul tour from Cheonggye Stream which lies at the back of the hotel, head towards Gwanghamun Square where the magnificent statue of Sejong the Great is erected along with the infamous Admiral Yi Sun-sin. The location is great which is very close to the metro station of Line No.2 & 3. And it's a 10-minute walk to Myeong Dong Shopping area. The most attractive thing is the breakfast included. The strawberries were so cute and yummy and the staff were very friendly and helpful! The room is tidy and clean and the facilities are all great. The staff could speak some English and could answer our requests well. The location is good as the Euljiro 3 (sam) ga subway is about 3 minutes' walk from the hotel. There is a restaurant near the lobby that serves food for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you are too tired to go out to eat. There is a 24 hour convenience store where you can buy food, snacks and drinks (located at the basement of the hotel). Staff are very friendly and can speak English and Japanese. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had some minor problems with one of the room and the staff responded quickly and fixed the problems. Hotel location is only 5 mins walk from subway station but it may not be very safe to walk alone late at night as this is in an industrial area and the shops are closed after office hours. Breakfast was good and filling. Appeared. In an industrial park of town (BR fixtures and tile but very safe. After evening activity ceased was fairly quiet. Did not hear other guests. Sutton Hotel Myeongdong was excellent value for money, especially at triple sharing. We had the comforts of a hotel at such a low price. It's a block away from Euljiro-3-ga Station and two blocks away from Cheonggyecheon Stream. Not precisely at Myeongdong but a brisk 10 to 15- minute walk will get you there. Excellent location, very near to subway station, and easy to get around by underground trains. There are bus stops at main road, which could bring you to the city centre or even the airports. If you want a quick bites, there are some restaurants located around the hotel vicinity. Comfortable, quite rooms, fairly large tv with a few English channels, heated toilet seat, fairly good breakfast, pleasant staff, 7-11 in the basement. Take bus 6015 from Incheon Airport and get off at the Royal Hotel stop, or the one after it (Best Western). Really convenient. 3 mins walk to the subway. Plenty of local good food within walking distance. 15Mins walk to Lotte Departmental Store, 20 mins walk to MyeongDong Shopping district. Very helpful staffs member. Staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful at all times, making the stays at the hotel (4 days then 1 separate day for travel) amongst the most pleasurable we have had at any hotel anywhere. Its very near the shopping area of Myeong Dong with metro station exit near the Hotel ; breakfast was adequate & ample; the staff were courteous & nice. This hotel was close and convenient to all major tourist destinations. I walked everywhere, but the subway was very close and is easy to use. As we went in early March, the weather was good enough to explore all surrounding attractions including Myeondong and Gwanjang market. Nice... near the city center; easy to communicate with the staff as they can talk simple Chinese and English; near the subway station. No tea bags in room although hot pot, cups, sugar etc. went to desk to ask for tea bag and clerk said they did not provide. But couple days later saw on room cleaner cart and finally showed up in room day before we left. Limited English of desk personnel. Euljiro-3-ga is not a pretty neighborhood. It's full of hardware stores selling tiles and doorknobs. There are people drinking at pojangmachas all over the place. I hated leaving and coming back to the hotel. Good thing the metro station is close. Not i can think off.... It is good that they had a bath tub, though it is quite small and has an uncomfortable very square shape for sitting in. It is annoying that you can't open the window - there are small vents though so you do get some fresh air from outside. Somewhat difficult to find - most maps don't even show the small street it is on - I found it by putting the co-ordinates into a gps App on my iPhone. Convenient store that says 24hours actually opens on from 1pm till 11pm. Many taxi driver do not know how to get in even with the hotel business card. There is nothing we didn't like about the hotel. Perfect. Hard to locate for first time because there's no signage on the street. Toilet may be slightly smaller, but not an issue. Not much things in the hotel area and may be quiet at night. But subway was very near, so isn't a problem for us. Breakfast was basic Area is industrial. - small bedroom. we paid higher price for the room with terrace but the outdoor jaccuzzi didnt work. the hotel charged us half price for just the last night. 1. The room is a bit small 2. The double bed is made of 2 single beds instead of 1 double bed 3. Location is a bit weird as it's in the middle of hardware shops area, quite difficult for our airport taxi to find 4. difficult to find Muslim food. we had to travel to Itaewon to get some as that's the only area where we could find many halal foods as the Seoul Central Masjid is located there. Sound insulation. Room & bathroom was very tiny but was cleaned everyday. There's nothing too see around hotel since its located near hardwares (bathroom fixtures). It was not very visible from the main road and our taxi driver took us to another Sutton Hotel across the river. Not very soundproof. It seemed like water being used anywhere in the building could be heard in my room - very annoying during the night. The hotel was located among hardware shops. the bed is too small. Staff don't speak fluent English but very helpful. tiny bathtub, no fitness center, small room. The room is not big for 3person. There were heater instead of aircon for the first few night when we are there. We had no choice in the end have to open the window but it's quite noises during the early morning which disturb our sleep. The location is dificult to find. Every time we gave the hotel card to the taxi driver they always take us to the wrong sutton hotel. And we need to pay more since the taxi have to round and around the block to find the hotel. the temperature of air conditioner can't be adjusted, the room temperature almost reached 30'C (outside was 1X'C) but the staff told us that we could only open the air bank to let fresh air come into the room... few hair were found on a towel which supposed to be clean.... the transport time of shuttle bus from hotel to Seoul station was too long, at least took 30min more than subway... the safe was not workable, couldn't be locked... Room is a little small Hotel is hidden in an area full of small hardware stores. It's a liitle difficult to find the hotel by taking the taxi. ( After shopping, I took the taxi back to the hotel. But all of the taxi drivers couldn't find the correct location of our hotel.). Price is a little bit higher than it supposed to be. just hard to find the exact location. Hotel is not on the main road, most of the Taxis driver didn't know there is a hotel. Hotel facilities, restaurant prices, not much flexibility for an early check-in. The venue is not very convenient. no iron (tough for a business traveler). No room service was a little annoying, however the restaurant downstairs was very good and seemed to be reasonably priced (we only had breakfast). The location is a little out of the way, in the middle of the printing and home improvement districts, however the subway is really close and there is a large restaurant district only 10 minute walk from the hotel. NO Restaurant near hotel. No sundry shop near hotel. Buffet breakfast could be improved. Semi-industrial neighborhood; but safe and near city sights.
