  Loved the hotel's location. It's very accessible from the Osaka Park Subway Stop on the JR Loop. Makes it super easy to get around and it's lovely to get up early and go for a walk in the park! We paid extra for a room with a castle view and it was well worth it. Even though I asked for a non smoking room well ahead of time, I was told upon arriva... what people say » l they didn't have any to give us. However I couldn't tell the room we had was a smoking room to begin with, and my nose is very sensitive and I had n - The castle-view room at the 12th floor is very spacious for a couple. You have a nice view of the Osaka Castle & Park and the river. The nearest station is Osaka-jokoen, a 5-minute walk from the hotel. There is a convenience store at the nearby building but it closes at 11pm. From the Kansai airport (night arrival), it is more convenient to take the airport limo bus to Hankyu Hotel, then take the taxi to New Otani.

  Really friendly staff, going beyond the standard polilteness level of Japanese hotels and making the stay personable. Hotel equipped with everything a 5 star hotel needs.   The hotel is beautiful, fancy, very clean and the room was big and comfortable. The staff was excellent, could speak English very well and was always helpful. They have directions printed out to major attractions and can explain every step of the trip very well. The staff also gives good advice on where to go and what to do in Osaka. Great location, across from Minami district, full of shops, restaurants etc. there is also - We stayed three separate nights during our two week tour to Japan. First night in Japan, straight from Kensai Airport, it was the best choice for our fairly late arrival. On our third visit we were told they had upgraded us to a larger room, which also had a larger and -for us- a more comfortable bed (most beds in Japan are fairly hard).   The ambience of the place, the Executive Lounge that my wife Pholile admires so much especially for the afternoon high tea. The 2hr complemetary predinner cocktails and canapes were a plus. Our club room was perfect. The staff were extemely helpful and very polite and made us feel special. - Nice big room compared to japanese standards, good soun... what people say » dproofing. There were a pool and bath but we didn't get a chance to try them. Personal very helpful, got us maps, various infos, and even a plug adapter.

  The room was nice and clean - spacious enough for two people. Travel between the airport and the hotel is easy enough to figure out using public transportation. The free shuttle from the Osaka train station to the hotel is a nice benefit.
