In our views, cycling is the best way to experience the city, especially when you have limited time. The location of... what people say » the ryokan is excellent, right next to the city's main market, Omicho, where you can find Japanese restaurants and cafes (including Starbucks if you - The family running it are extremely helpful and kind. Our one dinner and three breakfasts were plentiful and good quality traditional Japanese. Our room with private toilet was spacious and quiet. Even with three mattresses I still found the bed hard but wanted to experience the traditional ryokan. I would recommend it for being near shops and many places of interest.
