Although this was not close to the train station and it is quite expensive to travel on the water taxi to get to the hotel, it was in a great location close to Piazza San Marco and the lovely quiet area and gardens of St. Elena. We were able to walk with our luggage back to the train station on departure once we were able to navigate our way around Venice. Despite arriving late (11pm), somebody was waiting outside to welcome us. The suite is very spacious with high ceilings, 50" tv, 2 balconies, jacuzzi. It is very quiet area. The owner is sympatic. He speaks various languages.all reviews »
close to centre, staff very friendly, was mistake on booking and were very accommodating. Large, comfortable rooms, excellent value for money, good location (5 minutes easy walk to S. Zaccharia vaporetto stop). Reception was only staffed part-time, but we were given contact numbers to ring in case of problems (which we didn't have to use). Loved the feel of having a whole palazzo to ourselves! Friendly manager gave sightseeing suggestions, spoke perfect English. Great place to stay.Very helpful staff, large room. Excellent choice. The location of the hotel. It's five minutes away from St. Mark's square.Palazzo Soderini is very centrally placed, just 5 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The rooms are comfortable, nice and kept very clean. We enjoyed our stay and hope to go back soon. Beautiful setting in a little square. Formerly a house. Our room was extremely large even by non-venetian standards. Balcony opened out to a charming little pallazo with locals going about thier lives.The hotel room was well laid out and equiped. Staff were very helpful making sure we had the necessary directions to find it on arrival. Very handy for St Marco. Great location. When the housekeeper called the owner and I eventually got to speak withowner he was helpful in trying to find me another hotel. But in the endI found my own. For me only localization. This hotel was great, very clean and modern interior with beautiful courtyard off kitchen. Breakfast was excellent with best coffee received on whole trip throughout Italy. The hotel is not clearly labelled, so look out for the hotel number on the door. It would help if there was a slightly larger sign on the front door, but since we had the street number we didn't have a problem.Very poor breakfast. Enjoyed this hotel, but I would classify it more as a bed and breakfast. I would recommend this hotel for a week stay, not less.The room did not have a shower that could be stood up in, just a bath shower attachment. One of the windows has no curtain or shutters to shut out light. Contacted hotel staff that would not arrive until around 10pm at night on first night of stay and they said was fine. Arrived and spent 1hr trying to get in, or contact hotel and no one was there and staff uncontactable. Had to go and find another hotel for the first night of our stay. Manager did contact us later on and paid the difference, but it was not a good initial experience.I checked out next day as room in lower ground windows above head heightso no privacy from onlookers, windows were not frosted! Air con wasbroken and bathroom got flooded so very musty and humid, hotel was notmanned apart from in the morning for a few hours so no one to complainto in the evening when I incurred these problems.
