The location is perfect. The staff, especially main guy (goatee guy), were v. helpful and friendly. They arranged our gondola ride and answered our questions fully. The bathroom was clean and seemed new except for the broken shower door (it still worked, but was coming apart). Our towels were changed daily and our maid even folded our pjs on our pillows! :) It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful.
all reviews » the hotel was perfect great price, we split a four bedroom room with some students from my school and it was exactly what we wanted right in the center of venice easy to get to and clean.Moved us to a larger room at no cost!. The staff were great and the room was cleaned every day. Very accommodating and helpful. We arrived at 2am after our flight was delayed and they were fine with this. The location is fantastic. We had such a pretty room - very rustic - shutters on the window, mosaic flooring etc.The staff, the location and the ease at which we could get around Venice. The hotel was in a very good location. The staff were friendly and helpful and although basic, as expected, the room was very big (we were given a family room at a double rate). That said, we did not really hear anything in the other rooms (and the hotel was fully booked). The beds were a bit hard but overall great value for the money. The only main problem was the flooding at high tide. It seemed to be worse just outside the front door to the hotel so take wellies or pay the tourist price for a cheap and nasty pair when you get to Venice as the hotel doesn't put out walkways like everywhere else.Nothing, there seemed to be different staff on a lot but they were all pleasant. bit noisy in the morning.Stairs, no breakfast on site,. the street was a bit noisy in the morning - I assume deliveries to a building on the opposite side. no one speaks enlglish. The uncompetent male receptionist / glorified night porter - who gave me no / the wrong information and made me nearly miss my flight. The heating was off at times and it was freezing cold. The room didn't have a safe. The kitsch chandellier. It felt too much like a youth hostel in times - we had an extra bed in the room.Walls Paper Thin. the bathroom are flooding after take a shower. no stairs,room in the third floor,not clean,mad weak up us in the morning fot cleaning, took out the third brd in the second day ,loose doors and we were alone in the hotle too much money for this old hotel!!.

From Marco Polo airport, you can catch the regular bus service to Piazzale Roma - it takes 20 minutes. Then take the vaporetto (water bus) number 82 in the direction of Accademia- San Marco on the Grand Canal - it takes 20 minutes .
Get off at San Samuele. It is 150 metres on foot. You can also take the vaporetto number 1 in the direction of Rialto-San Marco. Get off at Sant'Angelo - it takes 25 minutes. If you get off at Sant'Angelo, follow the signs to Palazzo Grassi.

From the railway station to San Samuele:

From the railway station, follow the same directions as from Piazzale Roma.
