Not far away from city center, the cheapest I can find in Milan. Friendly staff, close to centre, convenient bed. The place is clean and budget friendly. I'm not one for fancy hotels—a bed, clean room, and hot shower are pretty much my only requirements. Hotel Ambra provided all of these, although in each case, there were caveats. I had a large terrace in my room. Very nice staff.
all reviews » Not very comfortable but nice, and well located. Can't beat the price, but don't stay in summer....no a/c, no air at all. Room was hot as hell. If you can afford something better, do it. If not, it's a place to lay your head in an expensive city. Was excellant value for money. Stayed for two nights and only really used as a crash pad. My room is on the ground floor and the window is small, it is a little wet. Most of our hotels in Italy were right around the same price. Out of all of them, Hotel Ambra was in the worst shape. The shower head wouldn't stay up, the shower curtain rod was falling down, and our room was a half-dozen different colors, with a lumpy bed and wobbly chair to boot. That said, it served its purpose—a place to sleep. It was a bit cold and the bathroom is old. Smell of cigarets in the rooms. No a/c, just one fan in a five person room. Showers didnt work properly niether did sink on plugs Very basic rooms and bathrooms which were shared. Staff not really helpful and location was two metro stops from Milan central train station plus a ten min walk from when you get off metro. Not much amenities near by. poor breakfast. cleaning. Звукоизоляции нет, слышно все что происходит как за дверью, так и за стеной в соседнем номере и общей душевой. В номере с индивидуальной ванной комнатой и туалетом, мы так и не смогли воспользоваться душем: 1. отвалился сам душ 2. не было горячей воды 3. на вид очень грязная. Мы ходили пользоваться общим душем, там и комната побольше, состояние лучше и вода была горячая. Полотенец в номере не было. за день до этого, я останавливался в хостеле, это было гораздо лучшее место, чем этот отель. The hotel was very run down and had several safety issues (i.e. electrical sockets hanging out of wall, door handle about to fall off) The only fan in the room barely ran and didn't cool the room at all. You had to unplug the TV to plug the fan in. One room electric socket was out of order and could not be used although it was badly needed,TV-set out of order as well , the shower booth was poor and dangerous as iron nails stuck out of the shower's boards and could harm you , a second bathroom had its sink outlet pipe fully clogged and dirty water lagged behind.
