This is a small, very original, elegant hotel. The hotel is situated in a lovely 18th century period building in an elegant part of Milan and is a good alternative to more conventional hotels. It’s very unusual and welcoming and even though it’s a 3 star, compared to the dull 4 star hotel I slept in in Florence prior to my arrival and also in the other apparently superior quality hotels I stayed in previously, it was decidedly better! I loved the variety and the quality of the breakfast, the originality of the design and structure and the careful way it’s been looked after. The kindness. This is a very pleasant small private hotel within a typically Milanese quiet courtyard; from the street you would not know it was a hotel except for a brass sign on the building wall. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the room was clean and well equipped, and nicely furnished with period furniture. Breakfast was typically Italian with fresh fruit salad, cereals, croissants, meats, hard boiled eggs, etc. The staff made our coffee/tea to order (we had cappuccinos). The location is excell. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is very central so ideal for getting out and about in Milan. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, the hotel is very peaceful (though there was some nearby construction taking place when we stayed that would have really upset us had we been staying any longer as the drills and other loud noises started very early on a week day, luckily we were only there for a long weekend). Rooms are comfortable and the hotel has a general sense of peace and tranqu. We received a warm welcome from the lady (whom I presume was the owner). This was a change to a cold attitude we experienced in Rome. The room was big, nice and very neat and tidy. There was even welcome chocolate in the room. The staffs were very friendly. The breakfast was imaginative with a changing offer of savory dishes as well as the usual pastries. The location was perfect; truly half a block to the church of the Last Supper. Our exit to the Cadorna Station to catch the Malpensa Express was an easy 3-5 minute walk with rolling luggage. I would definitely stay here again. This is a clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast is good. It is close (5min walk) to the Cadorna train station which has an express train to Malpensa airport. The Metro is also at the station. The main city centre is a short walk away. It is only a minutes walk away from the building where 'The Last Supper' is displayed. We would recommend this hotel. However there is a patisserie and restaurant next door.
